DP: got $250, not in counties listed. Also got a mailer today for $10 credit after making first bill pay! Make that 260! 😀

The bonus finally posted for me on 9/29/2016. Does anyone know how long I need to keep the account open to avoid any penalties?

Applied on June 22nd. Finally noticed the $250 bonus appearing in my account as ‘pending’ today.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the $250 original offer. They are lying and claiming it has different terms and conditions that require $300 per direct deposit. The original offer said no such thing.

I’ve got a PDF of the offer.

$250 link is broken but $150 still works.

Has anyone verified that we’re still eligible for the bonus if we applied before the county restriction in the terms was added?

anyone notice this in the T&C’s “To maintain a Maximum Checking account, you must (a) receive a monthly direct deposit OR (b) use our online bill pay to make at least ONE bill payment per month. (Bill payment must POST before month-end.) If these eligibility requirements are not met, the account may be converted to a Free Checking account”. And also, “If we determine you have met the terms of the offer, the cash bonus will be deposited into your new LegacyTexas Maximum Checking account on the Payment Date”. This to me seems to imply that if you don’t receive a monthly DD or do a monthly bill pay and your account converts to a Free Checking by the time the bank goes to post the bonus you may be ineligible for the bonus. So while the account doesn’t have a monthly maintenance fee you can’t simply do a one-time DD and forget about it.

They added a county restriction to the disclosures:

Special incentive offer is only available to residents in Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Parker and Wise county.

Chatted with a rep, she said they will be adding Collin county back to the list so it will essentially be the entire DFW metroplex.

They were able to update the disclosures while I was on live chat. Oh the advantages of small banks.

Under Maximum Checking account in the disclosures it states:

“No maintenance fee will be charged on this account.”

The $12 fee above is in reference to Money Market Checking.

I believe there is a $12 monthly fee unless you keep a $3,000 balance. The schedule of fees is available if you click the tab at the bottom to expand disclosures.

That’s the money market checking.

I chatted with a rep – there is NO monthly fee and NO early termination fee.

C’est la vie. I’m not unhappy with $150, and I’m grateful that you found it for me.

Also, if I’m not mistaken, my wife can apply for the $250 bonus, so it will end well!
