Direct link

  • U.S. Bank is offering 25,000 FlexPoints  after $2,000 in spend on the U.S. Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa

Card Details

  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 2x FlexPoints on the category you spend the most on (at gas stations, grocery stores or airlines) and at most cell phone service providers during each billing cycle.
    • 1x FlexPoints on all purchase purchases
  • $49 annual fee waived first year

Our Verdict

Some people were seeing a similar offer but with only $500 spend when checking pre-approved offers. This card usually offers an increased tier based bonus during the winter and summer Olympics as well. The timing of this increased offer is a bit odd if they do plan on offering that Olympics bonus, so maybe we won’t see it this time around.  Personally I don’t think that this offer is that enticing when you keep in mind how difficult U.S. Bank approvals are, I’d also be worried about an increased Olympics bonus coming soon as well. Because of that I won’t recommend this to most people. Keep in mind that FlexPoints are now worth a maximum of 1.5¢ per point as well. As always read these things everybody should know about U.S. Bank credit cards before applying.

Also keep in mind US Bank is extremely tough on churn-type spend. If you plan to get this card, try to get the minimum spending organically.

Yup, definitely make sure you’re spending organically. This is not for those who complain about getting accounts closed for their manufactured spending via gift cards to meet the minimum spend.

They’re probably ramping up offers around the super bowl, in the bank’s home town at the US Bank stadium (god I hate stadiums’ names nowadays).

That one is dead. The “direct link” in this article works though https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ymmv-u-s-bank-flexperks-travel-rewards-visa-25000-points-500-spend/
