Update 10/19/22: Thanks to the official press release we now know the following:
- Card will have a $95 annual fee, waived first year
- Sign up bonus of $250 after $2,000 in spend within the first 120 days
- Pilot program offering a card with a LED light that lights up when you make a contactless payment
Original post: U.S. Bank is launching a new credit card called ‘U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards Visa Signature Card‘, it’s not accepting applications yet but you can join the waitlist. At the moment we only know the earning rates on this card and they are as follows:
- 6% cash back on combined eligible purchases each quarter with two retailers you choose ($1,500 limit)
- Ace Hardware
- Amazon.com
- Anthropologie
- Apple
- Bed, Bath, & Beyond
- Best Buy
- Chewy.com
- Crate & Barrel
- Disney
- Home Depot
- Ikea
- Kohl’s
- Lowe’s
- Lululemon
- Macy’s
- Menards
- Nordstrom
- Pottery Barn
- QVC
- Restoration Hardware
- Target
- Walmart
- Wayfair.com
- Williams Sonoma
- 5.5% cash back on prepaid hotel and car reservations booked directly in the Rewards Travel Center
- 3% cash back on eligible purchases each quarter in your choice of one everyday category, like wholesale clubs, gas and EV charging stations, or bills and home utilities ($1,500 limit)
- 1.5% cash back on all purchases
Seems like this is only worth getting if you’re really, really into LED lights.
Even though the Cash+ has the potential to earn more, I don’t really come close to maxing it out on utilities/internet. Whereas I could easily max out this card for more overall return especially with buying groups. But with AF and the smallish quarterly cap it hardly seems worth the effort.

this card is only make sense if you spend more than $10k a year with that 95$ annual fee compare to Amazon card at 5% cash back. yeah, first year annual fee is waived but how easy is it to cancel after the first year ?
The card doesn’t make sense in this context, because you’re limited to 1.5K a quarter.
Has anyone chosen Walmart as one of their 6% categories, and then purchased gold from Walmart?
Did you get the 6%?
Is it all things sold by Amazon or Walmart or does it include 3rd party sellers who sell on the site?
Amazon includes 3rd party sellers.
Wait. Is it all from the same $1500 limit? You still need a US Bank account to get cash back? I would get it, if it didn’t have that rule. Hate that stupid rule. Is there a minimum $25 for cash back?
You can get cash back deposited to a non US Bank account. Yes, the minimum is $25.
I just read your comment. Last I checked. That wasn’t the case. Still not a fan of the $25 minimum though (I’m way too spoiled with Chase and Citi redemption).
Not only is it $25, its increments of $25. I have $21 sitting on my account right now 😞
I know that feeling. It’s exactly why I didn’t even bother with active cash. I literally had to fight with Wells Fargo to get my cash out. It’s so arbitrary and dumb. It’s YOUR money. You should take how much out as you like, for what you like. It’s why I only do cards with Chase and Citi. Thinking of Paypal because they also don’t have that stupid minimum.
“I just read your comment. Last I checked. That wasn’t the case.”
I’m not sure what else to say… In an effort to be helpful, I verified it about two minutes before posting my reply… You’re welcome.
Thanks. I appreciate it. I’ll check again.
I just tried on my Cash+ and was unable to redeem to an outside institution. The page says U.S. Bank checking, savings, or MM account although it offers up routing/account number fields. After inputting account information it just says the routing number is incorrect (i.e. not U.S. Bank).
Yup, just tried again, and this time when I enter any other bank’s routing number it gives me an error message.
Don’t know if it’s a programming error, or if they really aren’t allowing outside transfers now.
If so, why would they request you enter a “routing number” if EVERY routing number (besides U.S. Bank) produces an error message???
I got Apple Card on 06/06/23
I got Amex Gold on 11/09/23
To apply for USBank credit card
Will I be at 1/12 on 06/06/24 or 07/01/24?
Any suggestions? THANKS
Is the $1500 cap on 6% purchases and the $1500 cap on 3% purchases separate or combined?
Same question. Glad I’m not the only one.
Separate. From the footnotes: You will earn 6% Cash back on your first $1,500 in combined net purchases at your two chosen 6% retailers. You will earn 3% Cash back on your first $1,500 in net purchases in your chosen 3% category. There are no limits on your 1.5% Cash Rewards earnings.
Yea I just closed the card. No retention offers or even options to downgrade at renewal. Oh well.
Strange, it was both an upgrade option from Cash+ and a downgrade option from FlexPerks Gold.
But why would you do that without having at least 2 years since they waive the 1st AF?
Looks like this $250 sign-up bonus is still active or active again: https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/shopper-cash-rewards-visa-signature-credit-card.html
Is there a reason this card isn’t on the list of best sign-up bonuses?
Added now, thanks. I’ll bump this post to the homepage as a reminder about this bonus.
It has been a little dry lately
Thanks for the reminder bump, appreciated.
The $250 bonus is for spending $2000. That’s rather weak actually.
The US Bank Altitude Connect gives you $500 for spending $2000. That one belongs on the list of the best sign-up bonuses. I already requested that and some other better bonuses be added but nothing happened.
I got $250 for $500 on my Chase welcome bonus. Lol. $300 on $750 spend on my Citi custom cash. It’s not that great for the amount you need to spend. You’re right.
I was thinking the same, altitude card,I’ve already churned, does anyone know if one can re-apply after 6+ months?
