- Spend $125 or more and receive 500 bonus miles (4 points per $1 spent)
- Spend $600 or more and receive 1,750 bonus miles (2.9 points per $1 spent)
- Spend $1,500 or more and receive 4,000 bonus miles (2.66 points per $1 spent)
The Fine Print
- Promo period runs from 7/21/15 through 8/12/15
- Promo points are in addition to standard portal earnings, not instead of them
- Bonus will be based on your cumulative purchases during this period
- You can only get one of these bonuses
- Allow 8-10 weeks for the bonus miles to post
Our Verdict
We posted last week about a similar offer from the AAdvantage portal and from the Southwest portal. The others maxed out at 3500 miles while this United offer maxes out at 4,000 miles.
These portal bonuses could really be nice if you do lots of online shopping, especially if these portals are offering competitive rates to begin with.
Sweepstakes
Aside from the bonus miles earned from shopping, MileagePlus is also offering a sweepstakes as part of this promotion. You can enter the sweepstakes here and be eligible to win up to 100,000 miles and $2,500 cash. Three more winners will receive 20,000 miles each.
You also get five additional entries into the sweepstakes when you make a purchase using the shopping portal. And you can opt in to receiving promotional emails (read: spam) from MileagePlus and receive an additional five entries.
