Maximize the Deal
There are some discounted gift cards that we covered yesterday, here is a link to the eBay page with all the gift card deals. There is Exxon at 8% off, and other gas brands at 5% off, and Auto Zone at 10% off, among others.
Nothing too good for reselling as Exxon isn’t commanding such a high price right now, but still good deals for actual gas purchase. And for those who got 10% bucks, the math can work better for reselling as well.
Also, see our List of Best Options for Full-Price Gift Cards on eBay if you want to purchase full-price gift cards to places like Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot, gas, and many more.
Shopping Portal
See all rates here. If you haven’t maxed out your allotted $20 from iConsumer, that’s the best deal. Otherwise, you can get 2% from Mrrebates or Splender.
Also worth noting that Ebates is offering 10% back on the baby category, and other high portal rates on clothing, pet, crafts, and much more. On baby products, you can end up getting a whopping 20% off with Bucks and portal! (Here is my Ebates referral link, appreciate if you use it.)
Our Verdict
The 10% deals are always worth maximizing as much as you can, and the 6% deal is also a nice bonus. I’m a little pessimistic that they’ll start making the 10% deals much more targeted, but hopefully this won’t happen.
6% 🙁
Seems like GC reselling is dead. GC’s are only moderately discounted anymore and ebay bucks are lesser and fewer meaning much more meager returns to the point of it not being worth the time.
I’m hoping somehow it has to do with annual financial performance goals and it will ramp up again as the year goes on for all parties involved.
Perhaps I’m pulling a chicken little here. Does DoC have any opinion on how Jan 2016 compares to Jan 2015 last year with regards to ebay GC reselling angle? You have historical data right?
Don’t forget, you can save even more buy buying Ebay Gift Cards from Raise.com, while using the Splender portal. That should be at least 2% + 2% (I actually got 2 + 5 earlier today).
Then use iConsumer for 4% or Splender for 2% when you shop on Ebay.
Plus the Ebay bucks (10%), plus a 2% cashback card. You are looking at:
2 + 5 + 4 + 10 + 2 = 23% back on a $95 gas gift card. Pretty sweet.
I have a 3 years old account. I get these offers every time ebay offers them and I reached my 500 limit today with this 5x.
I buy different stuff from ebay and sell them locally if you guys are wondering .
Haven’t gotten one in 6 months and I just got an Exxon card on Sunday!
Do you foresee exxon reselling prices increasing, Chuck? I’ve been holding on to a fair number for a while for an increase, but it hasn’t budged. Seems like it may even drop again.
I think they might go down with the cost of gas decreasing people will need to buy them less often.
Still waiting for Target to rebound from 90-91 down to 86!
Take a look at gas prices. There’s your answer.
I got the targeted email today. Holy cow this will make minimum spend easy.
I don’t think this applies to gift card, quoted from ebay “*Qualifying purchase excludes all items in the following categories: Classifieds, Business & Industrial, Real Estate, eBay Gift Cards (within the Gift Cards & Coupons category), Bullion (within the Coins & Paper category), and eBay Motors. “
Right, eBay gift cards don’t earn Bucks, but other gift cards (e.g. gas) do.
Thank you. I was targeted yet the bonus didn’t appear the first time I shopped. Only now did it appear to be 5X but the ones I wanted to buy are gone…
heh they seem to be ramping up their “fraud department” too. I got warnings across my accounts to not abuse the ebaybucks/daily deals or else they will close my account.
What do you mean? How were you abusing them?
Mostly likely the case is about purchasing daily deals in multiple account from the same address. I got a warning 9 months ago, I only purchase daily deals from one account since then.
Is this a first for them to send out two different offers? I don’t recall ever seeing this. I ended up with the x6 and I regularly have received all prior offers.
Nothing target yet in 2016.
Same here despite getting all of them last year. I’m not going to buy anything until I get an offer.
Same here, what’s going on?? I got almost every one in 2015.
I never got them before this year, but have been getting them regularly in 2016.
