Our Verdict
It’s good to see another 2% card available with no annual fee. Nice to see a $200 bonus on the card as 2% cards often have no/little bonus on them. We’ve added this to our list of Best Credit Cards For Every Day Purchases.
Was denied the first time I signed up which was around the beginning of the year. Opened up a checking in March 2025 and got the bonus three months later. Now I applied for the WFACV as was approved.
Does anybody know the payout time once spending requirement is meet?
My points went pending when my last spending was complete and was available on the next statement.
Approved with 800 FICO score. Pulled EX only from TX. I have a car loan, checking, and savings accounts active with them. 9 open credit accounts, of which 2 have balances (20% utilization and <1% utilization, respectively). 1/6, 1/12, 3/24
Application went pending for about 18 hours but was eventually approved.
did this replace the WELLS FARGO CASH WISE VISA PLATINUM® CARD?
Denied with 850 FICO and 40 perfect years with Wells Fargo checking account–too many new credit cards opened recently (6 in the past year).
Instant approved for $4.5k, pulled Experian, CBR of around 760 – 780, already have WF Autograph with a $4k limit. Used to have a WF deposit account but churned and closed months previously.
Question – I called the bank and CSR told me that Wells’ cash advance limits (she called them a “cash line”) are set upon card approval and CANNOT EVER be raised or lowered. That sounds highly unusual to me. Has anyone else ever tried to change their Wells CC cash advance limit to $0? Hoping to fund a deposit account with this card to hit the MSR but not if I’m paying a cash advance fee/APR.
Can I close down this card and reapplied again later to churn its bonus ?
Got approved for the Active Cash and WF FedEx Overnighted two separate packages: one with the approval letter and one with the credit card.
Interestingly, the printed terms that came with the card state 0% 12-month balance transfer APR if requested in the first 120 days and no balance transfer or cash advance fees (forever?). Also no foreign transaction fee, compared to 3% shown online. Anybody else get the same terms?
Got denied with an 800+ FICO. Two existing WF cards that I use every month and get a small balance waiver on every month, plus a checking account.
This would have been a great time for a bonus on $500 spend since Citi Sears left me in the lurch this month. Plus the 2% on the Active Cash is essentially 3% for me since I have the WF Platinum Visa, which offers a 50% points bonus on travel redemption. Oh, well…
Tread lightly, folks. I know it’s tempting since the more Wells Fargo accounts you have, the more likely you are to get a settlement check in a few years when they get booked for outrageous criminality, but… they be denying valuable customers.
title needs update, its $500 spend
Can anyone share the reconsideration line 800#? I applied for Autograph journey and was denied so would like to talk to them. TY in advance. Pulled experian.
Credit services # is 800-967-9521 but calling is a waste of time. Human analyst is not empowered to override the algorithm. So whatever decision is made is final.
The points of denial for me:
Well Fargo is still under Fed asset cap. Don’t know if it affects credit card lines they can extend, but I would assume they are very picky. I would think it’s a waste applying to Wells Fargo.
