Wells Fargo Now Allowing Product Changes Online

Wells Fargo is now allowing some cardholders to product change online (click view more services when logged in on a desktop). Not all cards have this option, but it seems card that are similar to the new ‘Active Cash‘ card can be changed into that card. I suspect similar options will be added when the other new Wells Fargo cards are added and the current line up is discontinued. You can view the downgrade rules and best product change options for other card issuers by clicking here.

Does anyone know if it is possible to product change an active cash or similar card to the old Visa Signature? I know its closed to new applications, but I know (at Chase for example) some cards that are closed can still be gained via product change.

Thank you! This worked for me. Went from a 1% back card to their 2% back card in 30 seconds. Per the confirmation, no change in card number or rewards, but the expiration date and 3 digit code will change.

I was able to switch my 1% to 2% online. So easy.

Has anyone tried product changing from the Propel to a Visa Signature? Would like to use the 1.5point benefit for airfare but don’t want to lose my points as part of the product change. Thanks.

Product Change does not qualify for $200 cash back bonus and 0% Apr for 15 month says WF rep. Only applies to new customers or who apply for the first time.
Did any one in the community witness this. Please advise.

Wali I don’t think product changes have ever allowed the bonus for any card ever

Don’t forget, for Portfolio by WF deposit customers, moving away from the WF Visa Platinum/Signature means you’re giving up price protection benefits.

Want to product change to my oldest visa card to the 2% card. Will it be considered a new account or will I keep the account history

It kept the same card number for me as well as my rewards. I do not think it will be a new account, but I just did it so I do not know for sure. Generally product changes do not result in a new account.

Log in to do the product change, only to find the 5 checking accounts they opened in your name that you never knew about
