Recently a lot of readers have been asking why Wisconsin seems to have so many good bank account bonuses or complaining about the fact that their state doesn’t have many good bonuses. The simple answer is that Wisconsin doesn’t have more than other states, Wisconsin just has more readers actively looking for those bonuses and reporting them to me. Finding bank account bonuses is extremely time intensive, you basically need to go to the website of every bank in your area and then search to see if they have any sign up bonus. Normally it will be displayed on the home page, but sometimes doing a “site:<url.com goes here> bonus” search can work wonders as well. You can also go through previously expired bonuses and often they will be working again. To find banks/credit unions in your area I find US Bank Locations to be useful.
In the case of Wisconsin recently one reader spent some time doing this and that’s why you see the current glut of good Wisconsin bonuses. Sure some states might have more bonuses than others, but I can almost guarantee you that if you regularly spend time searching for them you will find ones that aren’t listed on this site (and you should send them to me so we can add them to this site). If you don’t want to look for bonuses yourself, why not reward readers that do find bonuses in your area by using their referral links when possible (we will always credit readers at the end of a post with a hat tip)?
