Our Verdict
The main reason that Bank of America cards are attractive is that multiple pulls get combined into a single inquiry and they’ll approve you for multiples of the same card in one day (you’ll need to call in to get approved, as they will think they are just duplicate inquiries). Another benefit is that it’s possible to downgrade these cards into better balance reward cards, which can earn up to $120 per year just for paying those cards on time (yes, this is still possible. We’ve had recent success stories). There is also currently a 15,000 mile + $100 offer on the Spirit card from Bank of America as well.
Bank of America/Alaska Airlines have offered a sign up bonus of up to 50,000 miles on this card before but the standard bonus is 25,000 miles.
Hat tip to Maximizing Money
Offer says ” This one-time promotion is limited to new customers opening an account in response to this offer.” Does this mean if I’ve previously received the same offer (a couple of years ago) I would not receive the sign-up bonus or statement credit?
I don’t think that’s enforced.
Tried for MBM this AM, but got instant approval for one; pending for others. Could not synch all submissions as a new “we need more info on your employment” pop-up window de-synched the timing.
Then, the approval screen offered complete acct # right away to use for spending today.Wow, B of A has upgraded their system!
Thanks for the link!
I know with most issuers if you do a product change, you don’t qualify for the bonus on the new product. However, your post makes it seem like you could change the Alaska card to the Spirit card and get the bonus. Are the rules different for BoA? If so, I have a couple BoA cards that I will gladly change to Alaska cards for the bonus.
No, I’m saying you do separate applications for each and they’ll be combined into a single pull.
Still I wonder if I should go for this offer or wait for 50k offer…I’ve applied a lot of credit cards in the pas 12 months and I guess that’s why I don’t receive any targeted offer…?
I received targeted 25,000 Bonus upon approval + 25,000 after qualifying purchases offer
“25,000 Bonus Miles after making at least $2,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of account open date”
Can you e-mail me what you received ([email protected]) I’ll remove personal information. Any idea why you were targeted?
