OK, so for those of you that have not yet received the credit, maybe you really have and don’t know it? I suspect that’s the case for me. Went through my second support chat today and then got a follow-up email from a specialist team. Here’s an excerpt that may help others:

“I’m writing to follow up on your recent contact with our customer service team.

Thanks for your purchase in the app. I understand that you haven’t received the credit for placing orders on July 16, 2019.

Please follow below steps to claim the benefit:

Visit app notifications center(bell icon) and look for “Claim $X.XX coupon for your 07/16 purchase in the Amazon App”.

Please tap on it and a reward page will open in the app.

On this page please tap on “Get Coupon” button.

Once the coupon is tapped please make an eligible purchase in app on items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (coupon does not apply to Gift card or digital items) and check in the checkout page to see whether

‘Buy more get more’ promotion is applied on the purchase.”

Now that notification was from many days ago. So, I think the system did already issue a credit, but you have to go claim it through a notification in the app.

I suspect this is just poor communication on Amazon’s part. Good luck to all. Hope that helps someone.

Rarely use the app, but I did for this promo and didn’t realize that with the Amazonbasics bed that was on special ($90 off) that I actually was over $500 which I didnt think I hit with GC, Ring security and cameras that were also on sale.

But did call in and they tried to say that it all had to be purchase in a single order: But T&C actually say :

“items purchased using a promotional code must be purchased in a single order and shipped at the same speed to a single address.”

But this Promotion had no codes to apply and reading the rest of the T&C it actually applied to the promo code that had to be used by 7.31.19 I actually prefer the GC that doesn’t expire.

But I prevailed and they did credit my account with $60 GC after 30 min phone call much of it on hold.

Had to contact amazon and go back and forth on this one. Apparently the terms that were written were not how they were set up in the back end. In the back end, you are not getting credit for gift cards, or anything not bought and sold by amazon.

I showed them the terms and explained that’s not accurate. They manually issued me the credit.

Might be useful info for anyone else who hasn’t gotten the expected credit…

I received the $60 credit, claimed it, but it doesn’t show up on any purchases through the app, or the website. Has anyone gotten it to trigger? It said it will expire 7/31/2019

hi there. make sure if you want to purchase something that the item is sold and shipped by amazon. then you have to complete the transaction through the phone app. you will not see the credit applied if you complete the purchase using the website.

Thanks K.M. You are saying that when I’m checking out in the Amazon phone app, I will see the credit applied upon checkout? For example I’m buying a $100 item sold from amazon.com, I will see a $40 charge on my credit card?

No, it should actually show you only being charged $40 on the checkout screen. You must go through the app for the purchase and as mentioned above the item must be sold by Amazon (cannot be fulfilled by Amazon and buying gift cards doesn’t seem to work either). The cost breakdown at checkout will include a Get More credit reduction if it’s working correctly.

Just got mine $22 through app. Bought $250 best buy GC with Discover 20% promo. The notification takes you to a page to “claim” it. Seems like promo will only apply if you checkout through app. It’s a shame I had bought more gift cards earlier the day and missed the $500 mark, but thanks anyway Amazon and  William Charles!

Interestingly though, my wife’s account hasn’t gotten hers yet. Her order was actually of “stuff” $200+ item price but only $100+ after deal of the day and Amex 20% promo. Should still get at least $10. I wasn’t logged in to her account through app though, not sure if that matters.

I’m currently in hour 2 of a chat with the reps. I think something fell through the cracks badly on their end.

They ended up refusing to credit it because I am on a shared family prime account. Real PITA of a promotion.

yikes, that’s annoying but definitely fight it. heres a direct link to the promotion https://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=1acc269caa4311e991ef02d4353d21bf0INT&node=19294225011&pldnSite=1 and nowhere in the terms and conditions is there a mention of what type of prime account is necessary.
