[Update] Chase Is Matching The Increased Sapphire Reserve & INK Business Card Offers (80,000/90,000)

Update 10/24/22: Chase is matching INK bonuses even more than 90 days, for a lot of people. It’s not clear exactly how long they’ll match. Also note that not everyone is having success, but most people are. I learned about this in the comments yesterday and tried it out myself via SM. The message came back today agreeing to match me, and the points are showing immediately. Really amazing! I’m not sure if anyone is getting their Sapphire Reserve  match for more than 30 days.

Update 10/21/22:

  1. Reports indicate they are only matching the Sapphire Reserve bonus for 30 days, from September 15, 2022 through October 16, 2022. That’s unlike Chase’s old matching policy of 90 days. (ht Ben)
  2. Conversely, we have at least one report of the INK bonus being matched for around 3 months (ht Tdub)
  3. Most data points are for matching on the INK Unlimited. We also now have a data point on matching for the Chase INK Cash bonus as well (ht Tdub)

Original Post 10/20/22:

Reports indicate that Chase is matching the increased Sapphire Reserve 80,000 points offer and the INK Unlimited 90,000 points offer, upon request. If you recently got approved for the Sapphire Reserve or INK Unlimited card, send Chase a secure message or call in to see if they can match the newer offer and increase your bonus. It’s possible they’ll match the INK Cash 90,000 points offer as well, though we haven’t seen any data points yet on that.

For background, some card issuers will match a newer signup offer if the bonus got increased soon after you got the card. See Which Credit Card Issuers will Match a Higher Signup Bonus? for information on each card issuer. Chase used to always match for up to 90 days, as a matter of policy. However, for the past few years it’s been hit-or-miss: with certain offers Chase makes the decision to allow matching and others times not.

Regarding the new Sapphire Reserve and INK Unlimited offers, many reports are surfacing of Chase reps agreeing to match the newer increased offer and give the extra points. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

The Sapphire match is not entirely surprising. The INK match is more surprising given that it’s a branch-only or targeted offer. I speculate that the INK offer will become a public offer soon (possibly even to referral links?) and thus they’ve already coded the offer for matching.

In any case, if you applied for the Sapphire Reserve or INK Unlimited and possibly INK Cash card, it’s worth a secure message or phone call to see if they can match your offer. Let us know your own experiences in the comments below.
