You can also get the backpack by signing up for the Citi Costco card, I wouldn’t recommend that (do one of these bonuses instead). Keep in mind they have offered $20 in Costco cash for signing up for auto renewal, I’d take that over this backpack any day of the week but no guarantee you’ll get targeted for that.

I got the backpack. It’s really flimsy and very weak. It has three zippered storage sections, from smallest to largest, with no smaller pockets inside or anything. Two bottle holders, one on either side, slightly begin to make up for it. A duffel bag would probably have been more useful.
I’m holding out for a rotisserie chicken.
I got auto renewal charged on Citi Bank Costco Credit Card (SOCK DRAWER). I didn’t like that. Other VISA cards have better rewards at Costco.
However, my lovely wife told me to pay them, and I listened to her.
Recently, I saw them offering an insulated metal beverage container for signing up for auto renewal.

I got a mailing a while ago for a free $20 Costco gift card for signing up for auto-renew. I signed up for it, even though it costs me more that way (I usually renew my membership in CT where they are not taxable; in NY they charge sales tax, and they do so at a higher rate than my town’s rate). Anyway, the auto-renew went thru but I never got my gift card. Does anyone know how long it takes? Time to turn off it off again I guess.
I signed up for auto-renewal online April 6, 2019, and got the $20 card May 7, 2019. So about 1 month for me.

When I complained in-store about having never received my auto-renew gift card, the store manger handed me a $20 Costco Cash card.
It is a nice backpack, looked similar to an Eddie Bauer pack I use. No luck getting one as positive reinforcement as I am already on auto renew and have the card. I stopped by membership on the way out and had auto renew deactivated with minimal push back. Allegedly auto renewal will be required for credit card holders “soon”.
Was offered at the Issaquah store this week. I only noticed that it was for signing up for the Citi card, but might have been for auto renewal as well.
