The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Delta is offering 15,000 bonus SkyBonus points when your employees fly Delta and Partners. You need to enroll using the promo code OPENSEP18 by 9/30/18. You’ll receive the 15,000 points after you book and fly within 60 days of enrollment.

The Fine Print

  • Must enroll by 9/30/18
  • Must use promo code OPENSEP18
  • Flight must be completed within 60 days of enrolling

Our Verdict

Few things to note:

If you have a legitimate business then I’d go for it, otherwise it’s not worth it as they will just shut your account down. It’s also unclear if you need to have received the e-mail or not as the promo code is generic. They have previously offered 10,000 points so this bonus is slightly better than that. This might also help you get targeted for a Delta Platinum offer with an extra 70,000 Skybonus points.

90K Skybonus miles for domestic main cabin ? what can you do with 15K ? Not worth it.

The 15k bonus and the flight points posted. Unfortunately, the bonus is peanuts compared to the points needed for redemption. Based on https://skybonus.delta.com/content/skybonus/corporate/us/en/about/earnpoints.html it might work out if purchased tickets are for 1st class/business class, not connecting through Delta hubs. Its highly doubtful that I will be flying those routes though.

Here is a screenshot of the redemption options: https://imgur.com/a/Vt3RL1Q

For me, I’ll redeem my 1x domestic Comfort+ upgrade and call it done.

I have a work-related trip coming up, so why not give it a shot?

I signed up with my sole prop info, but there seems to be requirements which I probably cannot meet without getting really creative:

*Note: Accounts are required to spend a minimum of $5,000 USD in qualifying flown revenue and a minimum of five unique travelers each calendar year to remain active in the SkyBonus program. View full terms and conditions.

What do I put for “FEDERAL TAX ID OR VAT NUMBER”, I’m a “self-employed” Delta business card holder…

If they ask your federal tax ID, then tell them your federal tax ID…

That is your EIN or SSN.
