The Offer

Credit earned will expire 365 days from the day it is added to account. Lyft credits can only be applied towards rides on the Lyft Platform taken in personal mode and cannot be applied to tips, cancellation fees, damage charges, or taxes. Cannot be combined with other ride credit or offers. Promotion subject to Lyft’s Terms of Service.

Our Verdict

Giving business travelers personal rewards is most loyalty programs bread and butter. Not incredibly surprised to see this sort of promotion from Lyft, fingers crossed they make it available to everybody and make it long term.

If a ride you consistently take at $7, now costs you $12-$17, whether you sign up for the Business Rewards Program or not, did you really save $5? Check your consistent rides, the rides that consistently went from Point A to Point B, at about the same time, each time. Check what you paid before the promo, check what you are charged after the start of the promo. Do the math. I called them on it. They tried to tell me Prime Time varies and a bunch of other nonsense. I didn’t pay Prime Time during New Year’s Eve, but got charged Prime Time and/or for business rides after they sent me the promo. I didn’t sign up for the promo because it’s financially stupid. Trust and believe, there is no discount. You are paying for every ride you take.

I got this offer within the app, not as an email. Came to me as a push notification yesterday!

I didn’t get this offer, but I did see an offer for 20% off a lunchtime ride. Lyft is really great about these random offers it seems.
