Plastiq Waiving First Month’s Fee When You Schedule 6+ Months With Any Credit Card

The Offer

  • Plastiq seems to be waiving the first month’s fee when you schedule 6 months or more with a Visa any card

The Fine Print

  • None, this isn’t advertised by Plastiq

Our Verdict

This has been reported by multiple readers (1, 2, 3). They offered a similar promotion earlier in the year, but you received the first two months free with Mastercard (that deal was targeted). People with probably be more interested in this Visa deal because the Chase Sapphire Reserve is currently coding as travel for some payments. Also remember today is the last day to get $800 in fee free payments if you’re a new user.

Update: People will be even more interested as it doesn’t look to be limited to Visa/Mastercard or American Express, all are working.

I got it, and my wife’s account got it as well. I think it said it was only for rent/mortgage payments.

I received and took advantage of the same offer but when using my AT&T Access More MasterCard. Not solely restricted to Visa in my case.

I signed up for a new account just a few days ago and this worked for me.

Got this over the weekend on my new account. Added CSR and started to setup rent payment. Was prompted to schedule 6 months to waive first fee.

It might just be scheduling 6+ months in general. I only have saved my amex card and I see the first month fee-free. Thanks for the heads up!

Yesterday when I paid a bill with an AMEX, the same thing popped up

Worked for me! Was planning to switch from a MC to Visa anyway, so this was perfect timing

I would add a note that it only appears to allow it on 1 scheduled payment. So if scheduling multiple payments please make sure you do your lagest one first.

Hey Doc,

I can confirm that I got a) the 6 month offer b) 3X MR for my May rent payment, on the CSR.

Plastiq is a flat out game-changer, especially with rent and health insurance bills. If these incentives continue and they can sustain their reliability/ease of use (and stay in business, of course)…they could be the next Paypal.

What happens if you schedule 6 months, but cancel after the first payment?

There is language that says they reserve the right to retroactively charge you the first fee.

Dave
Dave

I missed that language. Have they had this language in past promos? (ex, 1.5% when schedule for 6 months)
