[YMMV] Samsung Pay: Up To 20% Bonus On Giftcards

The Offer

  • Samsung Pay is a bonus on selected gift cards (note this is a bonus not a discount. E.g a 15% bonus on a $50 gift card gives you a $57.50 gift card for $50). Bonuses are as follows:
    • Lowe’s: 15% bonus
    • JCPenney: 15% bonus
    • Wayfair: 15% bonus
    • Staples: 15% bonus
    • Applebee’s: 20% bonus
    • Bass Pro Shops: 20%
    • Gap Options: 20% bonus
    • hotels.com, dsw, and Hulu: 15% bonus

The Fine Print

  • Limit of two per 24 hour period
  • $500 maximum over promo period

Our Verdict

AT&T and U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve should both earn a category bonus on these purchases. Seems like this is YMMV as not everybody is seeing these deals.

I personally liked their 15%/20% off on gift cards. These bonus deals are actually discounted less than what it shows as bonus. For example, 15% bonus is actually same as 13% off and 20% is 17% off.
Lowes barely goes over 10% discount, so that is good.

Why do you keep referring to the US Bank Altitude card, when this site’s own data points report numerous shutdowns from buying gifts through Samsung Pay?

I’ve bought like over 100 gift cards on Sam Pay and no problems. Some months I’ve had pretty much all gift card purchases. But in general I put a fair amount of normal spend on card.
