Our Verdict

This is hosted on eBay.com, so it’s a legitimate promotion and so are the gift cards. For some reason some e-mail providers are listing it as spam or suspicious content, but it appears legitimate to me. Unfortunately most people won’t be targeted, but a number of readers reporting receiving the gift cards even though they didn’t receive a targeted e-mail about this promotion.

Fun story…for some reason I created a secondary eBay account earlier this year, probably to try to get better/more rewards. I was looking into building a new computer, put ~$400 of stuff into my cart, then kind of forgot about it.

Not too long later, eBay sent me a nice coupon for $15 off a $25 purchase. Since then, my primary eBay account that I have probably had for at least 11 years has been eligible for NOTHING but this secondary account gets it all.

I won two $5 eBay gift codes and used them already. Worked great.

So did my hubby and my son. Cool. Free money.

Just an FYI, this page shouldn’t be publically accessable. Some dev at eBay forgot to validate user input against a session ID, as the root page does deny you if you attempt to authenticate your credentials.

On the plus side, I got $10 to burn. I’ve been eying one of those Korean 32″ 4K VA/IPS panels…

Yeah, it’s not too hard to get more than 2 codes if you know what you’re doing..

Incorrect–it is required to be publically accessible.

Of course the rules claim that in order to use this “Alternative Method of Participation” (i.e. this link), you’re supposed to actually follow the link to the official rules on the prize ball website in order to get to the form, but the end result is all the same 😉

DANG!! ya made me look. It accepted my entry. THEN I had to go to my registered email. When I got there, there was the usual Ebay Deals email. Unfortunately, I found something they claimed was “on sale” and it was something that I was willing to try.
$8.99
-$5.00 coupon for playing
$3.99 out of PayPal account.

Now we will see if the item is as good as it claims.
