[YMMV] Uber Plus Flat Rate Passes Available Again

We’ve discussed Uber Plus before, basically you pay a fixed amount and receive cheap Uber Pool/UberX rides for the month (up to a limit). These passes seem to be available again, but only for selected users (make sure your app has been fully updated, if you still don’t get the option then it seems like you are not targeted. If you get the option of being notified when it comes back, I’d recommend selecting that).

uber plus

20 ride pass will cost you $10 (costs $20 in SF) and 40 ride pass will cost you $20. Pretty insane deal if you use Uber even semi regularly.

I’m unsure if you’ll be able to use your American Express Platinum Uber credit to purchase the pass and if these discounted rides use up the credit, if you know the answer let us know in the comments

In Seattle, 28 day term (was 30 days last time):

$5 for 10, $10 for 20, $20 for 40, $25 for unlimited

$2.49 for pool, $4.49 for uberx

Amex Platinum credit works fine for rides, but not for the upfront fee, just like other gift cards. AND, it does stack with other gift cards.

Do you have to live or currently be located in the city you’re attempting to purchase?

Not working for me for SF: “Sorry, flat fares are no longer available”. Anyone else?

I just got it at 9:15pm PST. Seems like it’s ‘targeted’ or something.

Did you enroll for flat fares before?

Nope. This is my first time.

Is this working right now for SF users? I get the “no flat fares available”. What gives?

My wife was enrolled last month and was able to subscribe again. I wasn’t enrolled last month and get the same message as you.

So probably released to existing members initially and may open up to others tomorrow.

Oh, same situation here. I wasn’t quick enough to sign enroll last time this was around. I guess they’re testing retention.

SF, $2.99 Pool $6.99 UberX; options: 20 rides for $20 or 40 rides for $30 or unlimited rides for $40.

William, thanks so much for this series of posts! I’ve gotten a lot of monetary value out of things on this site, but Uber flat rates have a special place in my heart. I don’t have a car and flat fares mean I don’t have to think about whether Uber is worth it (“Pool is free” is what I tell myself). Makes so many things accessible.

DP: these stacked with the recent CapOne Quicksilver promotion, suggesting that they stack with everything. ($15 credit after nine $2.50 Pool rides was pretty nice.)

One suggestion — could you replace “SF” by “SF / bay area” in the list? I didn’t get flat fares in December because I thought SF didn’t apply to me, then in February decided to click the link anyway just in case, and I just bought a third pack and it’s been awesome.

I had f
lkat fare befor the platinum amex credits. You can use the amex credits on the flat fare ride. Not sure if you can use it to purchase flat fares.

In SF, this is what I got this time:

Flat fare rates – POOL ($2.99), uberX ($6.99)
Ride limit – 20
Total charged – $20

Price was doubled this month 🙁 Not sure its for all or YMMV.

Same for me. But they changed the pricing scheme. They doubled it for the 20 rides, but 40 is still $30 and they added unlimited for $40.

At least for SF, you aren’t able to use Uber credits to purchase the pack. However, I have been able to stack the Uber credit to pay for rides at the discounted rate.

Sorry, to clarify, I was referring to the Platinum credit. Uber seems to treat it like any other credit once it posts.
