[YMMV] Uber Plus Passes Available Again + Create Your Own Pass Option

Uber has offered plus passes for some time, the problem is that not everybody can buy them. It seems that unlimited ride passes are also available this time. These passes are available again, here are some ways to possibly purchase the passes:

  • Check your app. Between payment and trips you might see the option for a rider pass.
  • Check your e-mails. Subject line should be ‘ Don’t miss unlimited rides for <price varies on region’
  • Try a link. You can try these links:

You can’t use your American Express Uber credits to buy the pass. You can use the credits to pay for your discounted rides. I’m also not sure how the Ibotta $1 per ride rebate works in relation to plus passes either. Goodluck, you’ll need it. What’s also interesting is some people are also seeing a create your own pass option where you choose point A & point B and then it gives you an offer. This is obviously targeted towards people using it for work/school/other regular travel.

Today I got a Ride Pass for a second month in a row for LA. Last month it was $20 for unlimited Pool rides at $3.99 for rides up to $25 and then you pay the overage, and $6.99 for UberX with the same terms. This month it was $15 for the unlimited rides at $4.99 Pool and $6.99 UberX.

I used Ibotta with my Uber pass last month in San Francisco and it works successfully like any other ride.

I got in for this month, but they keep raising the price in NYC. First it was $5.99, then $8.99, and now it’s $9.99 up to $25 per ride.

ymmv with this….

I set the pin right outside of LAX at the public transpo/free airport shuttle station where it’s clearly outside their airport zone, figuring I’d take the free shuttle in. Well my driver deviated into the airport without me asking and I just got dropped off at my terminal, me thinking I came up.

Uber then charged me full rate including airport fee based on the route the driver took. Took at least 6 emails with canned csr responses for me to get refunded.

$5.99 pass for Dallas and Fort Worth. Sadly no go for me, because it doesn’t cover either of the airports DFW or DAL

Just went through there, and I’m surprised the drivers haven’t gotten together to convince DFW to charge flat rate or discounted costs to drive through the airport. Seems a little ridiculous that our driver had to pay $2 to leave after picking us up.

It seems to be rider or region specific. Some emails went out offering a large percentage discount on next 10 or 20 rides taken between specific dates and it states no code is needed.

Here’s what I got for NYC:

$3.99 uberPOOL and $9.99 uberX flat fares for the next 4 weeks.

uberPOOL flat fares cover the cost of your ride up to $20; uberX flat fares cover the cost of your ride up to $25.

$10 for 20 rides
$15 for unlimited.

San Diego has changed to $20 for unlimited Pool ($1.99 up to a $20 ride) and UberX ($5.99 up to a $25 ride). Previously they charged $2.99 for pool and $4.99 for UberX.

One big tip is to buy Uber GC’s from Ebay when they go on sale for 10% off and get the 5x UR points with the Chase Ink card. Then stack that with 1 point for every $2 spent when you connect your SPG account.
