Beware that this offer works only at Avis owned corporate locations.

I’d prefer Sapphire or VX for primary coverage than $75 statement credit 😀

You can always change the card that you pay with at the END of your reservation. So keep your Sapphire on file for the rental and provided you don’t have to use the insurance at the end, change it to Amex

You can add rental car coverage to any Amex card for $24.95 per rental. So it would still be $50 off.

Perfect since it seems Borneo that I’m going to next month have a bunch of Avis only among the big brands.

Be careful renting in Orlando FL. Had my plates stolen, swapped out actually, guys at rental company seemed shady.

Does anyone know for sure if I accept Amex’s BCE BCP upgrade offer will the BCP benefits start immediately ?
Can I use the existing BCE card as BCP and put some charges on it and it will count toward the Upgrade bonus ?

Yes. Can confirm. I was already earning 6% cashback when using my BCE right after I accepted the upgrade offer to BCP. Charges put on BCE also counted towards meeting the upgrade bonus.

Can I use my CSR to get rental insurance while renting it and then ask them to charge the Amex when I return the car?

Yes, use the CSR when initiating rental and for duration of rental. Upon return, ask the agent that you would like to split or switch payment to a different card. They will allow.

Isn’t there a risk that Avis would find something wrong with the car and fine you after you’ve already switched from the CSR to a card without primary rental insurance?

Yes, you’d have to be ok w/ that risk. Probably ok for big airport locations and if you know you didn’t hit anything. YMMV of course.

Never rent from Budget, they’re franchisees and have every intention to screw over their customers because they don’t own the brand

I got a similar offer for Hertz: Spend $350 & Get $70 Statement Credit. Nothing for Avis/Budget.
