You Can Now Redeem Your Topcashback Balance For American Express Gift Cards With A 3% Bonus

Topcashback is my most used cash back website, their rates are usually the best and generally I find their support to be adequate (with the occasional hiccup). You’ve been able to redeem your cash back in the form of ACH transfer (no bonus), Paypal (no bonus) and Amazon credit (2.5% bonus) for some time. They’ve just added a new redemption option, you can now redeem your cash back for American Express gift cards and get a 3% bonus when you do so.

I was happily purchasing American Express gift cards through Topcashback when they were offering 2%+ cash back on large denomination gift cards and I’ll happily redeem my cash back in the form of an American Express gift card when I get a 3% bonus, but I’ll likely drain my account less often so I don’t need to deal with liquidating low value gift cards which I personally find a pain to deal with.

I have not had a good experience with them. been over 3 months waiting for them to resolve an issue. its been sitting with a status of awaiting topcashback so in essence they are awaiting themselves. its not worth the hassle of this for such a small difference.

I don’t think this is such a great deal. This is somewhat inferior to buying an amex gc and getting 3% cb. Except in this case the cb stays on the card. If you already have the free shipping program then you can do this very easily with the discover it miles yourself by combining with the no fee code. Add to this the potential to earn portal cash back when buying the amex gc and I think this is not such a great offer.

TL;DR: you would come out ahead if you redeemed as cash and then used discover it miles + portal to buy the amex gc.and use the redeemed cash to pay the discover bill.

I completely agree that it is no bargain. I feel the same way about the Amazon redemption. I would probably only consider this if they offered 5% more for the Amex gc.
