[Expired] [YMMV] YouTube Premium (YouTube Red + Google Play Music) Free 3 Month Trial

Update 12/2/19: Offer showing up again for some people.

[Update 12/12/18: Offer is showing again for some/all who haven’t done a free trial on YouTube Premium before. Those who have done a trial before may still be eligible for a 30-day trial.]

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • You can currently get a free 3 month trial to YouTube Premium.

The Fine Print

  • Only first-time YouTube Red, Music Premium, YouTube Premium and Google Play Music subscribers are eligible for free trials, introductory offers or promotional pricing.
  • Monthly subscription – 3 month trial. You’ll be automatically charged the price listed unless you cancel during your trial, and then every month starting on the first billing date until you cancel your subscription.

Our Verdict

Sadly you’re not eligible if you’ve had YouTube Red/Music Premium/YouTube Premium or Google Play music before. This is YouTube’s new offering and it’s basically YouTube red and Google Play music combined. Standard free trial is one month, so this is an extra two months but I suspect this deal will often be offered as three months free seems to be the standard for most streaming services. Personally I’m still stuck on just using Spotify, but if your budget focused you could easily just switch between the different music services for free for a year+ and then decide on the one you like most.

I was offered the full three months, despite having done free trials previously.

I’m not planning to sign up, but FYI, I see a different offer on that link:

YouTube and YouTube Music ad-free
4-month free trial • Then $11.99/month
Recurring billing • Cancel anytime

I don’t see the 3-month trial. I never had it before. It’s just showing me 1 month 🙁

I had done it before, but was offered a 1-month trial so I took it and canceled it right after activating.

NUTS. I signed up for a 30 day free trial about a week ago. I needed to download a video for work this month. My plan was to cancel after the job is done. Wishing there was a customer service access to plead for the 90 day version.
