$5 Off Cable Bill with Chime & More with Auto-Pay

Thanks to Grant for letting us know about a new Chime offer of $5 off $25 for your cable bill from Comcast, Charter, Cox, DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, and Dish. The Comcast is going the fastest with only 20 left at the time of this writing. The others still have closer to 100.

This offer isn’t as good as the recent cellphone offer (which is still around) since that one was a free $5, versus this one which requires $25 of spend. But it still sounds like a good deal.

I also received a targeted email from Chime for $5 off my first payment if I enroll in autopay.

I suspect many of you may have gotten this offer as well. If you didn’t, I’d guess that if you make a cable payment using Chime they’ll send you the offer. That’s what happened to me with the cellphone offer. I hadn’t gotten targeted with the $5 auto-pay offer, but after I made a regular payment they sent me the auto-pay offer.

Here’s what the cellphone email looks like:

Note: Standard payments don’t seem to trigger the auto-pay credit. Meaning that you can’t ‘fool’ Chime. Apparently, when auto-pay is set up it’s coded differently.

One interesting note is that DoC reader Anthony reports getting $5 for the cellphone offer and another $10 when signing for auto-pay. We’re not sure why that happened, but hopefully it would work for others targeted with the cellphone offer and maybe it would work for the targeted cable offer as well.
