Looks like American Express has launched a new program for Delta cardholders called Fly Now, Earn Later. This allows American Express Delta cardholders to borrow miles and then earn them back over a period of six months. The amount of miles you can borrow is tied to your spending patterns. If at the end of the six month period you have any remaining miles still owing you pay 2.5¢ per mile.
Really like the idea behind this and while 2.5¢ a mile is expensive it’s not outrageously so. I know some people do put regular spend on the Delta cards as well for the MQM’s. I hope this comes to other American Express cards with different reward currencies as well (e.g SPG & MR would be very useful).

I think they had a similar program for membership rewards called points advance, but AMEX discontinued it in 2013 IIRC.
Yes it did, but was capped depending on your card

Terrific
Awesome. Targeted? I don’t see this option yet on my end.
Must be I guess? How much spend do you have on the card?
Any idea if this applies to sign up bonuses? I’m about a month away from my delta plat bonus but really would like to book my prospective award flight ASAP…this would be nice.
Think this is regular spending only. Read more about amex expediting sign up bonuses here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/which-credit-card-issuers-will-expedite-your-signup-bonus-points-or-miles/#American_Express
