Yesterday I a received a tweet from @FreeTravelGuys (website) letting me know that when they called Chase reconsideration they were receiving an automated message saying that the both the Chase personal & business reconsideration lines saying that they were closed and stating the office hours of 7AM-10PM.
Today reader Nerbil let me know he ran into the same issue, instead of giving up he called the regular business line and was told the following:
Called normal business card line and they said that all lending offices are closed for the next 3 days for “system upgrades” and won’t open again until the 28th
Chances are they are just upgrading their phone systems or other back end systems, although it’s possible this has to do with the change to the 5/24 rules we’re expecting sometime in March for business cards and April for co-branded cards. Either way, you won’t be able to call Chase reconsideration until the 28th. You can find a full list of reconsideration phone numbers for all credit card issuers here and our tips for reconsideration phone calls here.
I called personal recon line yesterday and today, but got nobody to answer it. It just said that office was closed. Anyone the same?
I called business recon this morning at about 7:30 CST and waited ~3 minutes for a rep. Was evenutally able to move CL but she was hesitant to approve because I had acquired “excessive credit in the last 5 months”
I called business recon (800-453-9719) today on Ink+ app and spoke immediately with a rep who was able to approve my application (and I’m way over 5/24!)
I just called this afternoon today and was connected to a Chase recon agent within 10 minutes, no problem.
I chat with Chase rep on Facebook because I tried to call recon.
The rep response:
“We apologize for the inconvenience. Our hours have temporarily changed. Our Lending Team will be open from 8AM-5PM ET. Normal business hours will resume on 2-29-16. For further assistance, please call our Lending Team during their hours of operation. ^KL”
I called yesterday nite and i was getting the same automated message. But called today again afternoon for my SO CSP application and was able to talk with a human.
I surmise this is being done to eliminate humans CSRs. When you call reconsideration, it might be Suri saying, “no you will not be approved and stop calling”
Although possible, I don’t imagine Chase will use Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s child for the reconsideration line.
Maybe the approval status line?
Good one. Siri.
Oh ********* its about to get real lol
