We recently posted an offer of Free $10 for Bank of America cardholders with Visa Checkout. More recently, it came to my attention a similar offer with PNC Bank.
The Offer
Create a Visa Checkout account (similar to a Paypal account) and add a PNC debit or credit card, and receive a $10 credit to your bank account or credit card statement. No purchase necessary.
They don’t mention clearly that you need to create a Visa Checkout account through the link on the PNC promo page, so this offer may work even if you create the Visa Checkout account directly at their website and add your PNC card to the account. But my guess is that you need to click through the PNC promo page and create a new Visa Checkout account in order to get the $10 credit.
Thus, you can’t do both this offer and the Bank of America offer in one swoop; you’ll have to open a new Visa Checkout account for each offer.
Here’s how to complete this offer:
- Go to the PNC promo page here.
- Click “Sign Up” which will bring you to the Visa Checkout signup page.
- Open a Visa Checkout account.
- Add a PNC debit or credit card during the initial account setup. No purchase necessary.
- Wait for a $10 statement credit.

- Offer valid until 12/31/2014
- Business cards excluded
- $10 credit will post within 3 statement cycles
Our Verdict
It seems weird to open so many Visa Checkout account, but I’d be doing just that if I had a PNC debit or credit card.
