Free $5 Amazon Gift Card with Chime [Limited Quantity]

[UPDATE December 18, 2014: Apparently, this offer is back on. I don’t see it in my Chime account, so I didn’t mention it immediately, but I saw three other bloggers mention it already, so I figured I’d  repost. Possibly, those who used it already (or who used it twice, like me) didn’t get the offer. It’s definitely worth a check to see if you got it.]

We posted a similar offer not long ago. This offer is back on today (December 1) only. From December 1 – December 25, Chime is putting out one special offer per day, valid only that day. See all the details here.

The Offer

  • Spend $5 or more on Amazon.com and receive an instant credit of $5 to your Chime account.

Purchasing an Amazon gift card will trigger the statement credit as well. Even if you got a previous $5 Amazon offer from Chime, you can get it again today with this offer.

This offer can be found under the “Holiday” tab in your Chime account. [Update: The current December 18, 2014,  offer is probably under the regular “Offers” tab.]

The Fine Print

  • Valid only on December 1, 2014
  • Limited quantity available. There were 224 when I checked a few minutes after the offer was launched. Be sure to check that there are still some available before making the purchase.

Our Verdict

You can see all of the Chime Holiday offers here, but I think this one is the best of them all. It can be done online, and it works on a gift card.

I headed straight over to Amazon to purchase a $5 Amazon gift card, and I received an email from Chime confirming that I’ll receive a $5 credit for the purchase.

This is the second $5 Amazon gift card that Chime has gifted me. All together, I’ve save $55 so far with Chime over the past number of months.

Referral link: If you don’t yet have a Chime card, I’d appreciate if you sign up using my referral link: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/go/chime-card/ .  If you open an account using this link and fund it with an initial $50 of funding, we’ll each receive $10.
