Free Money with Ticketmaster and Amex Checkout is Back, $7.90 Profit

We’ve written about the potential moneymakers of utilizing the new Amex Checkout offer, see Amex Checkout Updates: Newegg, Sabon, Ticketmaster, WSJ, & More. The one idea that appeared dead was the Ticketmaster one. Not only were the $1 donation options gone, Ticketmaster actually coded the system not to allow Amex Checkout payments to work on these small/donation purchases.

Subsequently, we wrote that there is a $5 profit option by purchasing free tickets and adding a $5 donation.

Dansdeals reports that a new option has surfaced to purchase a ticket for $2.10 and that will trigger the $10 credit. Total profit will be $7.90.

The price will initially show as $.10 and a $2 fee is added at the end, for  a total price of $2.10. May not last long – go for it!

The $5 donation option hasn’t been showing up for me for a few days. Octavio, are you still getting the option to make a $5 donation?

Terry, I was able to select the free ticket as I had done before, but this time I did not see the option to donate the $5; I did not know they had taken it away since it worked last time I did it. Gonna have to wait for another non-demo deal to test if Amex will re-issue the $10 credit.

@Terry,
DansDeals.com posted a $5 ticket donation – link below. I was able to use Amex checkout. If you haven’t taken advantage, this should work for you. I am not sure if I’ll get a second credit to replace the one that was reversed, but we’ll find out soon enough.

Thanks, Octavio. The link worked for me also. Hope that we get the credit.

I just noticed that I not only received the $10 credit but was also reimbursed $2.10

I received $3 credit on $3 ticket purchased on 2 Amex accounts. Also received $10 credit on both. Went to My Account in Ticketmaster and it shows that tickets were cancelled. Probably means that they are going to reverse the $10 credit.

Same here; I don’t think we were buying tickets to a real event: There was a note that said: “This is a demo event – you should not purchase this.” Also, the title said “CCP: Testing Multiple Ticket Types.” I think tickets were mere placeholders for someone who was testing ticketmaster’s system and we bought the tickets even though there was a warning – hehe. Now the questions will be whether they take our $10 away as well

Amex reversed the $10 as well 🙁

Likewise.

Am I bit afraid to try another Ticketmaster purchase because it’s supposed to be for your first purchase, and the system may not be coded correctly.

I noticed the $9.50 moneymaker that was posted before was also for a demo event, so I am thinking those who took advantage of that deal are on the same boat, the only one that did not reverse was the $5 donation I did when buying a free “real” ticket. I’ll go ahead and purchase another free ticket and give a $5 donation and post back. I don’t mind risking $5 for my benefit and others.

Success!!! I received the $10 credit for ticketmaster second time – so if your credit was revoked due to the cancellation of the demo tickets, you should be able to purchase a real ticket and get it a second time

FYI — The above deal seems to be working again. Tried a couple days ago and was not. Just tried again and was able to check out thru AMEX Checkout when I used the “direct link” posted above. Just used it for all the family amex cards : ) Thanks Doctor of Credit

Any current money making offers for Ticketmaster? I can find free tickets but can’t manage to be able to make a donation so I can pay with AmEx checkout.

Are you sure that Amex Checkout works with Serve cards? The Terms & Conditions state that prepaid cards are not eligible.

No, they don’t work. Needs to be a regular Amex charge card with Amex login ID

Dead. But our churn team made out like bandits again! About a dozen or so cards got through before it died…

Our REAL Churn team kicked your churn team’s ass! Did this promo on 14 cards, and of course we went through topcashback for an additional $.25 back per ticket!

Looks like it’s dead now. I was just in the middle of maxing out the rest of my cards, but now get a message “Sorry, no tickets match your search”. I only had 2 cards left to get on this deal! I wasn’t going to waste my time on $5…but guess I may as well now.

Wasn’t working at first (I posted an error and my comment was deleted….not sure why) but it works now and I got it on all 7. Woohoo.

Feels much better to give a charity a $5 donation than giving a $2 fee to ticketmaster :-).
