Last Chance For Chase Ink Plus

It’s my understanding that the new Chase Ink Preferred card will be launching tomorrow and the Chase Ink Plus card will be discontinued. If you’re interested in picking up a Chase Ink Plus, then I’d do it now. Just keep in mind that the Chase 5/24 rule applies to the card, so most people won’t be eligible.

I suspect it’ll still be possible to product change to this card (as that’s still possible with the regular Chase Sapphire card that was discontinued a long time ago), so the play for some people would be to get the Chase Ink Preferred for the 80,000 point sign up bonus and then try to product change to the Ink Plus for the 5x points at office supply stores.

Also remember that when the Chase Ink Preferred does launch, the annual fee will be waived in branch (and not online). Going in branch will also give you a chance to look for pre-approved offers, these bypass the 5/24 rule and you can read more about this here.

I was approved for Chase Ink Plus last Friday and today I sent a secure message to get enrollment offer matched to 70K points. Within 30 mins I got the confirmation
“We’ll be glad to add the additional 10,000 bonus points to
your account. In order for us to do so, please reply to
this email once your account has met the spending goal of
$xx5,000.00 within the first 3 months from the account
open date. “

Data point on the pre-approved offer for Ink Plus: It did NOT bypass the 5/24 rule for me. I applied in branch with a pre-approval and went to pending, and then received a rejection “Too many credit cards opened in the last 2 years” letter in the mail shortly thereafter.

I was in a branch Saturday to open the checking with $300 bonus. While there I asked about preapproved credit cards (I’m over 5/24). I was pre-approved for Saphire Reserve, but when I asked about the Ink cards he said you had to have a Chase business account in order to get preapproved for any of those. Of course YMMV.

I was approved for this just last week and still haven’t received the card. I applied online for 60,000 bonus points and was hoping to secure message Chase to get the 70K. With it being discontinued tomorrow, do you think they will still give me the 70K when I receive my card?

No. Why wait untill you get the card?

You can SM as soon as you are approved to request the match.

How can I do that? Don’t I need to select which card I am inquiring about?

I just successfully SM’d the 70k match and have not yet received my card. Just pick “Other” when it asks for account and then put 0 for account number and request the match as normal. I also mentioned I was just approved & had not yet received my card yet to avoid any confusion.

I applied for this ink last month and got it. Met min spend already and literally just received a reply to my secure message saying they added the additional 10k points to match the 70k offer. I mentioned I was more than 300 miles away from any branch (I truly am) and I sent my request to be matched a few hours ago. I wasn’t expecting a response this quick.

I waited to ask because on my last chase card they asked me to contact them back after I had met the min spend. I think you would have to at least wait until they added it to your online account login but maybe not.
