Bonus miles Shop online at MileagePlus Shopping

The Fine Print

  • Valid November 8, 2015 through November 24, 2015 at 11:59:59 pm ET.
  • Bonus miles are in addition to the regular miles earned from the portal.
  • You total spend during the promotion period will determine whether you qualify for the 500 mile bonus or the 1500 mile bonus or the 3000 mile bonus or the 6000 mile bonus. Maximum bonus is 6000 miles.
  • Please allow 8-10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus award miles to post to your MileagePlus Shopping account.

Our Verdict

This is actually quite a generous bonus as you can get an additional 4.8 miles per dollar of spend if you spend exactly $1,250. Very good. Previous deals maxed at under 4 miles per dollar.

These bonuses are especially worthwhile since you can do the spend at any merchant. Suppose you spend $1250 on eBay during the promotional period. Currently, the United portal is offering just .5 miles per dollar, but with the holiday bonus you’ll end up getting a whopping 5.3 miles per dollar. Figure out which stores you’ll be using to see how best to maximize this offer.

There are supposed to be more shopping portal bonuses coming as well. Hopefully, we’ll have some more direct links soon.

Hello all!

What does “Not eligible on Newegg Marketplace” mean…. Does it mean that the items sold by third parties not qualify?

Thanks

If you buy GCs on newegg using United portal, do you get cashback and does it count towards the bonus?

The T&C on United portal for newegg excludes GCs.

Does the United portal payout on eBay gift card purchases? What about on purchases made with eBay gift cards?

If I bought $1250 worth of merchandise then returned it and requested store credit, would that basically be a backdoor way to get the bonus miles by buying gift cards?

That has always been a longer but feasible route in earning miles/points AFAIK

Does this work for eBay GCs despite their exclusion in the T&Cs?

Do I need to use MileagePlus cc as well, or is it ok to use another one?
