Recently there has been some discussion regarding Chase changing the 5/24 rule when applying for a Chase business card as a sole proprietor. This is because front line Chase reps are telling applicants that call reconsideration that there is a new rule for sole proprietors and that they will be denied if they have opened more than 3 cards in the last 24 months.

Our Verdict
I feel like every six months or so we get a new 5/24 is dead or adjustment to 5/24 post. Think it’s a bit early to call this official but it’s surprising that front line reps are all parroting the same thing so most likely it is a new rule. Share your datapoints in the comments below.
