Recap: Product Change Team, Worst Tour Guide In The World & More

  • Worst Tour Guide in the World by Jetsetter Homestead. I generally hate organized tours like this due to that feeling of being cattle moved from stop to stop.
  • My Merrill+ “Approved In Error” Experience by Accounting Your Points. Surprised BofA is still doing this to be honest. If you’re going to go for the Merrill+ I’d recommend against combining applications and going for multiple cards.

I was denied a merill+ 6 months ago after 3 recent boA business cards opened. Approved after closing a personal boa card and applying again 2 months ago.I was approved in error for a boa SPIRIT card! Im still holding on to my 17K spirit miles and hope to be approved for the 3rd time for spirit card soon….I love their 2500K point redemptions…just be happy you werent turned down for SPIRIT!

RE: My Merrill+ “Approved In Error”

Youre surprised BofA is still doing this? why? if abuse continues then closures continue. haha. right?

but im glad ur recommending against combining applications and going for multiple cards. this is a major factor to closure and more manual review.

I hope the new Product Change team from AMEX resolves their issue of reps opening new card accounts when the cardmember calls to convert/upgrade an existing product. I’ve read MANY reports online for months where a person calls in to product change an existing account only to have the rep end up applying them for a new card (new account on credit report impacting 5/24) and then closing the old one. Perhaps this is a carry over from when AMEX used to backdate card accounts this would have been essentially non-impacting but ever since that change these product change failures are a big deal.

Question regarding to Northwest bank bonus. If I have not attempted to trigger the second bonus, would I get that one? Should I do the second round DD immediately?

I agree with you about week long organized tours similar to herding cattle.

I prefer to arrive at a destination and then select special interest hourly guided tours when something is of historical interest.

I agree with the last sentence…I had my Merrill card “approved in error” but I got the biz card a month later no issue.
