Card Details

• Card earns at the following rates (these are doubled for first 90 days):
  • 5% cash back on the first $6,000 in gas purchases every year. Excludes other discount warehouses other than Sam’s club
  • 3% cash back on dining & travel
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases
• Limit of $5,000 in cash back per calendar year
• No annual fee
• Requires a Sam’s Club membership
• Purchases must post to the account within 90 days of account opening to be eligible for double cash back rewards

Our Verdict

Obviously 10% cash back on gas purchases is insane, although that is capped at $6,000 annually (would be $600 cash back) if you can max that out in 90 days then this card is definitely worth considering. Even if you can’t, it might be worth it if you can put through some spend on dining and travel purchases as 6% is better than you can get elsewhere.

The other nice thing about this card is that it has no annual fee, so if you can make use of this double cahs back up bonus then you have a card that earns 5%/3% for life as well (as long as you have a Sam’s Club membership at least). You can read more about this card here.
