Our Verdict

Funny that this offer doesn’t show up in the Staples ad which is why no one caught it earlier. It is showing on the official Rebate page and was caught by freyguy50 on SlickdealsReader Lantean already did this deal and the Easy Rebate printed out at the register as it’s supposed to.

$15 isn’t the best we see, but useful for those who buy Visa gift cards from Staples anyway. The $15 will offset the activation fees (it’s $13.90 in fees for two $200 cards), and you can net the free credit card points if you have an easy way of liquidating the Visa gift cards.

Best to use an INK card for 5x or use an Amex card if you got the targeted Amex Offer found on some Amex business cards to get 5% back on Staples purchases of $200 or more.

It used to be possible to cash out these Staples Rebate Visa cards with their PIN, but readers mention that this no longer works. For more info on the Staples Easy Rebates system see All You Need to Know About Staples Easy Rebates.

You put the wrong end date, Chuck T_T

I found it the hard way.
Luckily I used Ink, so still a positive return, just minimal

Blech, third time I’ve gone to my local Staples and they didn’t have VGC greater than 25. Clearly they’re not selling them anymore or else people are snatching them up way too fast. Oh well.

sometimes when they are on sale they keep them behind registers… maybe ask a cashier/

Also have them check behind the “cabinet” display door(s). Often times they’ll have bundles therein, awaiting display, as needed. YMMV

You can just buy one $300 VGC right? This one: http://www.staples.com/Visa-reg-300-Gift-Card/product_1922766

I don’t think you can buy those in-store, and this rebate works for in-store purchases only.

You can’t cash the rebate Visa gift cards with a PIN anymore??

I cashed some of them out with a PIN just yesterday, using the last 4 digits of the card number as the PIN. Granted, they were issued a couple of months ago from 2 deals ago (it’s been taking 6 weeks for them to arrive), but still- I think reports of the demise of the PIN on the rebate cards might be a bit premature. More likely, it’s YMMV.

Great find. Shame it’s down to $15 from the usual $20 though.

Hence why the OD/OM offer is much better considering not only it’s higher, but instant AND no per household limit.

Sorry – What is that deal? The Staples around me are more convenient but if there’s a better deal, please point me to it!

Oh, it’s much easier for me to liquidate Visas and MCs. I’ll look out for those deals. Thanks.

What is the OD/OM deal going on? They used to have awesome deals- it was the same $20 off $300 but the discount came at the register, but I haven’t seen it in a while. Is it going on now?

“much better?” How so, Mr. JoE? How do you liquidate your Amex gc’s? Or are you just presuming we all only purchase these cards for normal (non-ms) spend?
