[Targeted] 10,000 Membership Rewards Points For Enrolling In Pay Over Time (& How To Get Targeted)

The Offer

  • American Express are currently offering selected charge cardholders 10,000 points when they enroll in pay over time.

The Fine Print

  • Email subject line is “Congratulations, [your name]. You’ve Been Selected to Enroll in a Flexible Payment Option”
  • Valid until March 18th, 2017
  • Offer code is CCTZ:0008

How To Get Targeted

  1. Check your e-mails for the offer
  2. Check the American Express offers section for the offer
  3. Call 1-866-280-4438 and mention the offer code CCTZ:0008. If you enroll this way, get confirmation and also a reference number for the call. Make sure you actually get the 10,000 bonus points as well
  4. If somebody shares the link in the comments you can try using that
  5. Read more about getting targeted here

Our Verdict

If you have any questions about Pay Over Time (e.g hard/soft pull) I’d recommend reading through our F.A.Q on the topic found here. You don’t actually need to use the pay over time feature to get the 10,000 bonus points, you must simply enroll in it.

Another DP on Gold Business. Called in to customer support. I told him I wanted to sign up for Pay Over Time and the rep did not even ask for a code and just confirmed that they are having a promotion that includes 10K MR points (posted after 6-8 weeks) plus 0% intro for 9 months! As jackie my account also shows “Learn about Pay Over Time”. I didn’t have a targeted email either.

DP: I have Gold Business and called in. They asked me what offer I was referring to and did not ask me for offer code, but was able to add it with 10000 in 6-8 weeks. For what it is worth, I do have “Learn about Pay Over Time” in the “Make Payment” box when I logged onto AMEX. I do not have a targeted email for this.

DP:
called the phone number 1-866-280-4438 and asked if they could apply promo code CBUX:0003, but they said it was expired!

They said to watch for a new offer like this one coming in March…

bummer

The offer code is CCTZ:0008. This one is still valid.

I see “Learn More About Pay Over Time” when I log onto my AMEX account. After clicking on the link it shows my PRG and Green is elgible to enroll but I do not see anything mentioning the 10,000 MR bonus. Should I enroll?

That is success in my book. Do you have the Plat and did you call the number on the back of the card?

If you have a Gold Business card, you might see it there — I did. And signed up. I’m not seeing the 10K bonus instantly; I figure it’ll show up after a billing cycle. You can also cancel this option any time.

Where did you see it?

Don’t see it in Account Services – Payment Options – Extended Payment Option

Got the emails last year for both the green and gold charge cards. They were both three months apart and I didn’t use either past the min spending and Amex offers

I wonder how they target people for this. Obviously they’re counting on people who enroll paying enough interest to offset the 10k MR. Maybe wait until the last day possible to pay off your Amex cards – make it look like you are barely scraping the money together…
