Our Verdict
This really isn’t too good of a deal. Since the variable-load and $200 cards aren’t eligible, you’ll have to buy two $100 cards or one $100 and one $50. The $10 discount probably won’t even cover the activations costs. Since it’s an Amex card, you still need to spend down the value of the card and there’s no way easily unload the gift cards.
We’re also limited to just one offer per person, although you may be able to check out in two separate transactions and get the deal twice.
If you have a credit card which earns bonus rewards at office supply stores, you may be inclined to do this deal so as to lock in more spend at the bonus rate. In any case, it’s probably not worth it unless you’re trying to meet a minimum spend requirement or you’re visiting the store anyway.
