Our Verdict
Not sure how I missed this one earlier as it has been going on for around 10 days already. Still, better late than never.
Since the deal is with Amex gift cards and not Visa, it isn’t as easy to deal with. But if you have a credit card which earns bonus rewards at a supermarket, it can be worthwhile purchasing the Amex gift cards and just spending them down with ordinary spend.
Personally, I wanted to make the purchase with my BBVA NBA card to earn 6x, but my local Shoprite was out of Amex gift cards.
The real value of this deal is because it can be repeated multiple times by purchasing $50 (or $500) gift cards in separate transactions and getting one $10 coupon for each. I also like the fact that the $10 credit is valid immediately, so you can buy the gift card and go straight back and purchase the groceries. In the past, they’ve made us come back and purchase the groceries a week or two later.
