$100 Exxon Gift Card for $90 on eBay, $27+ Moneymaker

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Purchase $100 Exxon/Mobil gas gift card for just $90 from SVM on eBay. Limit 3.

The Fine Print

  • Offer expires some time Tuesday morning September 22, 2015.
  • “Limited quantity available” which means that the available supplies may run out before the end date of the sale.

Our Verdict

Right now, there appears to be many thousands of available and it may be worth waiting on this deal. We hope to see a bonus Bucks offer some time within a few days and the deal will be much better then. If you decide to wait it out, be sure to keep tabs on it to see if the quantity available is dwindling using the method we outlined in a previous post. (As of 9:30 pm EST there appears to be around 9,000 available.)

Update: These are going faster than I expected!

Reselling Angle

If you don’t have a need for Exxon gift cards, you can use the opportunity to resell these for a profit. Here’s the math:

  • Pay $270 for the three gift cards (-$270)
  • Sell for $273 to Saveya or ABC Gift Cards (+$3)
  • Get 5% back from Inbox Dollars or a Topcashback match (+$13.50)
  • Get $5.40 back in Bucks (+$5.40)
  • Get $5.40 (or more) back from the credit card (+$5.40)
  • Net profit: $27.30

If we manage to get a bonus Bucks offer in a few days, the profit can increase even more. Keep in mind that it will cost you around $2 to ship the cards to the exchange. Also, rate fluctuations are always possible, but gas cards are pretty safe. In the event of fluctuation, just wait a few weeks and the prices will rebound.

has anyone been clicking through InboxDollars (ID) to ebay to make a purchase and actually seen the 5% credit appear on their inbox account? I just completed my second purchase (the Exxon GCs) and it didi not work. Did one last week and it has never appeared on ID.

Bryan,

Did you ask them if you can file a missing cash back claim? If so, I wouldn’t be too worried as I’ll just do a print screen. Did they confirm gc are included?

I didn’t ask if I could file a missing cash back claim. I chatted and asked them the day after I made the purchase because I hadn’t received any kind of confirmation. I asked them if they sent out pending/tracked/reported/etc. e-mails or notifications on my account that cash back had properly tracked and would be paid in the future like TopCashBack, Fat Wallet, etc. does. They said no they don’t — they only report to end user when it has been paid and available for withdrawal. That takes up to 30 days — which is true for all portals of course. They asked me to wait for 30 days and if it doesn’t track, then let them know. It was not a gift card purchase, so I didn’t talk to them about that.

When sending in physical cards, how do you send them? I’m not comfortable slapping a stamp on them and calling it a day. That might as well be cash.

The link below will explain it – many of us use paypal to generate the shipping label as it comes with free tracking.

Another option if you have Redbird is to buy $100 Ebay GC at target.com by using your previously purchased discounted target gift card and paying some amount by redbird to get 5% discount. This way the Ebay GC will end up netting you 9% discount.

That won’t work. Target will cancel the order. I tried several orderd last night. All of them were cancelled!

Try reordering, buying $50 gift cards instead. They seem to run out of $100 gift cards before their website actually shows it’s out of stock and they take them down for new orders.

It won’t work currently. I only ordered $50 and $25, still cancelled!

5X promo today. Wish I had waited but I bought three of these a few hours before DoC made this post. Missed out on about $21.70. Has anyone successfully had an ebay rep make a bucks adjustment for something like this?

I just read the terms and it looks like the 5x promo doesn’t apply to this GC purchase. Mine wasn’t and the promo was already activated.

Read the terms of the eBay Bucks offer. It doesn’t start for another 23 minutes.

Thanks for the tip. I might not have noticed this in my email before it was too late. Hopefully the last 2K won’t sell out before 11 AM EST.

Anyone else having issues with topcashback matching inbox dollars? I submitted a claim and it was denied since they said inbox dollar’s terms were too “vague”

Sorry you’re having trouble! I have only submitted one claim with InboxDollars so far and it was uplifted. About to submit a second one today. Here is a link to their terms. Doesn’t seem very vague to me — although they don’t seem to have any specific terms for each merchant. http://www.inboxdollars.com/pages/terms

I just went to InboxDollars. There is no fine print or exclusions. I can see why TCB would say that’s “vague”. Has anyone gotten credit from InboxDollars yet? I’m tempted to just use them and hope for the best.

I bought something on eBay about a week ago with InboxDollars and I have no indication in my account that anything was purchased. Hesitant to use them in the future.

Same here and chatted with them. I was told their company does not do pending/tracked/confirmation e-mails. They only notify you once they have received money from eBay and deposited it in your account. Annoying, huh?

Can you expand on the whole InboxDollars matching? Are they not reliable enough to get cashback and thats why you want TopCashback to match them?

How do you send in your GCs to SaveYa? Obviously slapping a forever stamp on an envelope is the easiest, but that’s comparable to sending cash in the mail with no tracking.

Send first class at P.O.?
