You can also go through Topcashback or Simply Best Coupons for .5% cashback on Visa gift cards.

Note that there is a shipping fee tacked on for large orders; smaller orders ship free.

IncentiveCardLab

A similar promo is going on for Visa gift cards on incentivecardlab.com, sister-site of Giftcardmall.

  • Use promo code: GoodJob2016 for $2 off each Visa gift card.

This one has a clear end-date for the offer of 1/29.

Our Verdict

The actual cost is pretty good for the Giftcardmall deal: after factoring in the coupon code and the portal, the fees come out to just like $1.50 each card.

The problems here are liquidation issues, of course, since we no longer have Serve/Bluebird. But worse is that fact that Giftcardmall has been cracking down on churners and cancelling orders. I don’t know if that’s still the case, but if you do attempt it, be ready for a real chance of having your order cancelled.

There have also been some issues with the PIN on Giftcardmall Visa gift cards recently.

Let us know how it goes for you. If no one is getting orders through anymore, we’ll stop posting these deals.

I just ordered 1. I guess anything more than 1 will be cancelled. I also made it look like a genuine order with a message inside and everything.

Datapoint – VGC come with a pin. Las 4 digits are the pin. I ordered just one card a week back and received today.

Data Point: I placed an order last week for 3x $500 visa gift cards. I called before placing my order, and was told that the VGC’s do in fact have a pin. This was my first time placing an order with Gift Card Mall. I received an email about 5 hours later after placing my order, which reads:
—————————————————————————
Unfortunately, after reviewing your order, we felt it was best to cancel it and refund the purchase price in full.

At CardLab, new and repeat orders are subject to risk and compliance reviews. The policies and procedures we use to review an account are proprietary and cannot be disclosed. The policies are in place to comply with federal regulations, and to protect cardholders and our company from potential fraudulent activity. Even though a review may result in the cancellation of an order, this does not necessarily indicate that you or order are fraudulent. The anonymous nature of an online transaction requires us to be cautious when choosing which orders to accept.

We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused.

Thank you for using GiftCardLab!

Seems like incentivecardlab.com provides PINs, and maybe the better option. The fine print says they can be used on STAR or Interlink networks, which are PIN-based. do the portals work for incentivecardlab as well?

A big question also: Is it possible to purchase these with AMEX Gift Cards, and/or to use split payment?

Their website states that the cards don’t have PINs. I’m not sure whether this is up to date, but it’s in their FAQ: http://www.incentivecardlab.com/help/visa-incentive-card-faqs

“A Visa Incentive Card does not have a PIN, therefore, selecting “debit” will cause the card to be declined.”

I don’t understand how they can issue cards without a PIN. I thought Dodd-Frank required prepaid Visa and MCs to have a PIN?

Yes, I believe its a law now, that these debit based VGC’s must have a PIN or an ability to set a PIN. Is there a lawyer in da house?

I saw this offer in the morning n placed an order of $500. Got a email from gift cardlab to call them for verification. Email also clearly states “Just a reminder, Visa gift cards do not come with a PIN, cannot be used good for cash back, or online bill pay”. I am going to call n cancel the order. This is also my 1st order from gift card mall.

I ordered one last week to try out something new I’ve been thinking about.

I got the same email and called and – I am of the opinion, and this is just my opinion, that what we really have here is a definition issue, it was my impression on the phone with 2 GCM reps that “no pin” to GCM means that the cards can’t be used at an ATM, not that they dont have a pin for swiping like VGC from CVS, for instance

This is only my impression and I have no proof, my cards haven’t come yet so I have been able to test

Anybody else under this impression?

Any updates in terms of whether or not these cards are currently coming with PIN? I’ve been following the Flyertalk thread but there haven’t really been any updates there for a a while
