JC Penney is offering a coupon for $25 off $25 when you purchase $100 in JC Penney gift cards in-store or online.

There’s also currently an Amex Offer some people have saved on their cards to get $10 off $50 at JCPenney. Combining the two deals, you can get $100 + $25 coupon for just $80 by splitting the charge between two Amex cards.

The online $25 deal is only for e-gift cards which are processed via Cashstar and won’t trigger the Amex Offer. But you can go into a JC Penney store and buy $100 physical gift cards, split the payment between two Amex cards, and get the $25 coupon there.

Lots of exclusions in the fine print, but still a good deal for JC Penney shoppers.

Just tried splitting payments between 2 amex cards for a $100 gift card that came with a $10 coupon.
I was told I couldn’t split payments between 2 credit cards by cashier and manager. Blah

You can use JCP gift card (Physical or Electronic) to shop at Sephora inside JCP both online and in store.

Does anyone know whether or not the $100 JCP physical gift cards purchased in-store can be used to purchase third party retailer gift cards? I’m assuming yes, but I’ve never tried this before at JCP due to their very limited third party gift card selection at my local store… If anyone has any data points on this, that would be much appreciated!

Have found JCP locations selling 3rd party gcs? I haven’t and even if you do, I seriously doubt you can buy them with their gc. You can always try and let us know.

Yes, mine has a bunch, but nothing fantastic… Buffalo Wild Wings, Fandango, Applebees, Google Play, Longhorn… a bunch of others I can’t remember… Unfortunately no Amazon gift cards (although I’ve heard some do?) but there’s enough random third party ones that I can usually find a few useful ones that I’ll use eventually… when you stay the $25 coupon with the AMEX offer (plus a few credit card reward points) it becomes a pretty decent deal… I asked the cashier once if you could use a JCP gift card to buy third party gift cards and he said yes, but he also seemed totally clueless so I don’t know if he actually knew what he was talking about or just telling me what I want to hear…

And regarding the comment below, not sure if that was a response to my question, but I am well aware that the $25 coupon excludes gift cards, I’m just curious if the $100 JCP gift card can be used to purchase third party gift cards. Thanks to anyone who has any input!
