Our Verdict
Nice to see a Bucks offer in January; we don’t see many offers in January, April, July, or October as noted previously. Remember also to use up your Bucks from Q4 2015 – less than 2 weeks remaining.
I’ve been able to use Bucks in the past even when I was over the GC limit. Maybe something changed recently?
I believe I JUST used Bucks a few days ago when i’m over the $5k GC limit. I don’t think the situation Mike’s in tells us Bucks count in the $5k limit

I have a problem, maybe you know a solution. I have ebay bucks certificate from last quarter ~ $300 which expires 2/2/16. I tried to unload it but unfortunately I already max out my 5K limit so it wouldn’t let me use the bucks. My limit probably wouldn’t decrease until late next month if I calculate it correctly. Anything I can do or I will lose this $300?
Wow, I didn’t realize that Bucks is considered gift card and included in the 5k limit! You sure it’s due to the 5k limit? It’s letting the purchase without the Bucks?
Best idea is to ask a friend/family to use their PP account – the 5k is tied to PP, but you can use your eBay account with any PP account (you may have to unlink first).
Alternatively, open a second PP account. I.e. if you have a personal account, open a biz account.
Yup positive it counted as gift card because it does let me use like $5 which is how much I am away from my limit. I guess i’ll try to sign up for another paypal account.. you saying I have to unlink my current paypal from ebay and add new paypal account for it to work right?
I signed up for a business Paypal account and was able to use the bucks with it.. maybe my other account got banned or something. Weird…
I made a rookie mistake- I made a purchase of 3 CVS gift cards BEFORE activating the 4x bonus bucks offer from my email. Two minutes after the purchase, I activated the offer. Does anyone know if I will still get the 4x Bucks- the way that this is possible with the Chase Freedom activation?
If not, can I request cancellation from the seller, then go back and buy 3 CVS gift cards again- even though its limited to 3 per buyer? What if the seller denies cancellation?

You likely can get a cancellation from the seller – just explain the situation and they’ll probably agree to cancel.
My guess is you won’t be able to reorder after it’s cancelled, based on prior experience of mine.
just call ebay and tell em you did it before the auction but it didnt take and then tell them you tried again after the auction hoping it would make it work, but it didn’t work and ask them if they could put it on for you. I did this once last year and they added it to my ebay bucks for me.
Anyone know how to get the 3x, 4x, and 5x offers? ebay has always shown love to me with these, but my father not so much, however he barely breaks the 5$ ebay bucks threshold and the lowest i have ever gotten was 10$ in the past 2 years. I actually almost broke the 200$ ebay bucks threshold last month haha, I started sifting some of my buying to his account hoping that it would help. If you have any info please leme know, I’m all ears.
Thanks for the info, Chuck. There was no real point in requesting a cancel if I couldn’t reorder- $100 CVS gift cards at $88 is still a good deal even without the bonus bucks, and if I cancel and can’t reorder, I would lose out on that as well! I didn’t want to risk it.
And Chuck you were right, at least as of now the bonus bucks didn’t post 🙁
I did call them though and said I activated the email and made a purchase (I didn’t specify the order of those things), but the bonus bucks didn’t post. They said that there is technical issue with the bonus bucks this time and that a lot of people were complaining about this issue, and she would notate my account to get it manually credited when the issue is fixed and they can see who got the offer and activated it. So I may have lucked out! Here’s hoping they credit me when they see I have an activated offer, and don’t notice that the purchase was made 2 minutes before activation.
Another thing I came across throughout all this is that there is fine print in the bonus bucks offers that states you must pay with PayPal in order to receive the bonus bucks. I haven’t seen that mentioned any post about bonus bucks- whether on this site or others. It seems like an important detail- unless I’m missing something and everybody ALWAYS pays by PayPal when buying on eBay, and not with a credit card directly? Also- does this mean that in order to benefit from credit card rewards on these purchased, we need to zero out our PayPal balances prior to the purchase since otherwise the balance will be used and not the CC? This could cause a minor headache for those such as myself who cycle through a significant amount of PayPal MyCash cards…
I’m going to guess that the Paypal lingo means to exlude COD or a few other options of payments.
When using a gift card or even when paying with a cc direct on the eBay site, it all runs through the PP payment system.

I finally got one. First time ever so I’m excited! Also got bucks this month but haven’t used them yet.
I got this offer on an account I don’t use AND on the account I do use (and click deal links). Some speculated that these are targeted to folks who click through on email advertising links
Not only did I not get this but my daily deluge of ebay emails seemed to have stopped. My subscriptions haven’t changed. Has that happened to anyone else?

The problem is that now PPDG now limits to one per purchase. So you can’t buy 5x Jiffy lube to get a $100 total for example 🙁

Interesting. That only works if you send to the ebay registered email address.
I usually send to a different account, at which point, you can’t add more to cart…. the button just changes to “Buy it now”
Since when is that? Also, PPDG only sells eGC so I doubt they are the ones selling the Jiffy Lube.
