Our Verdict

These Flash Sales from eBay seem to be coming weekly now. The past couple times we could use it to buy gift cards, no such luck this time. This time, it’s not even working when combining both gift cards and other items in the cart to meet the required $125. You’ll need $125 of real stuff to get the $25 discount, as far as I can tell.      It’s now working for me on gift cards, so long as there is $25 of non-gift cards in the purchase. You can use USPS postage stamps as a $25 filler, for example. It’s working both on eBay gift cards or third-party gift cards.

Sample Deal: Buy $200 in gas gift cards for $$184 and add $27 in forever stamps, and get a $25 discount.

For those that purchased that day using the coupon code, check your billing. I ended getting charged more than I should have. The entire balance was paid using the coupon and ebay gift card. HOWEVER, I checked my bank account today and realized an additional charge for no reason. The charge amount doesn’t even make any sense.

On the one hand I was disappointed to see this had come and gone and I hadn’t even known about it, but on the other hand the auction I was watching didn’t end until after the code’s expiration time, so at least I didn’t actually miss out on an applicable discount.

I saved $50 (between 2 paypal accounts) buying 3 dozen pair of men socks, a knife sharpener and a designer keychain (I was tapped out on gift cards from earlier promotions.) question: can you arrange for your deals to be texted? I was simply lucky to have checked twitter right before the promo. Thanks!

You can set up alerts with IFTTT and dochotdeals twitter account, it’s not a text message but a mobile notification (basically same thing). More information here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/how-to-receive-mobile-notifications-for-hot-deals-that-will-likely-die-quickly/

I’ve thought about it, but A) I don’t have a Twitter account (and don’t really want one), and B) I don’t keep any mobile devices chained to my hip, as it were, so I might not find out until it’s too late anyway. But maybe some day. 🙂

You can set it up to e-mail you if you check your e-mails regularly.

Nah, kind of the same way as with mobile devices: check whenever, not regularly or religiously. But I appreciate knowing that’s an option, thanks! 🙂

I used this before 7PM PST, it worked perfectly. I bought a server CPU, not a gift card.

Anyone else getting errors trying to complete their purchase? I tried checking out on two different browsers, changing quantities of items attempting to purchase, changing items to be purchased, logging into paypal to check for messages regarding my account and email associated with paypal account, logging into paypal before going to ebay… nothing. Crap.

Thanks for this. Bought $138 worth of stamps for under $110, before cc rewards. Set for Christmas and misc invitations this year 🙂

Bought 3 $200 Hyatt and 6 pair of Timberland socks for a total of $634. Paid w/ eBay GC i bought @ S&S that gave me an 18% discount in gas points. Went thru iConsumer @ 3%. Used the $25 code. Got 2% eBay bucks and received $75 in Exxon GC. Will use the Hyatt GC’s for Diamond upgrade in Aruba over Thanksgiving.

Thanks on the tip with Hyatt gift card + Exxon for $200. Free $50 worth of stuff is not too shabby plus cashback and ebay bucks.

Worked for me with $25 of non-GC + whatever amount of GC. Thanks!
