American Express Honoring Business Platinum Benefits Misadvertised (Walmart+ & Soulcycle)

American Express has sent out an e-mail to some Business Platinum cardholders apologizing for for saying that the card now had a SoulCycle & Walmart+ benefit as this was supposed to be for personal cardholders only. They will be honoring the SoulCycle credit in full and offering Walmart+ membership until February 2022.

What happened

Due to an internal error, we incorrectly notified you that we had added two new benefits to your Business Platinum Card: a SoulCycle At-Home Bike Credit and a Walmart+ Monthly Membership Credit. Please know that the Business Platinum Card does not offer these benefits and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Here’s what we’ve done

If you used your Business Platinum Card to purchase a SoulCycle At-Home Bike online at equinoxplus.com/amexbikebenefit between October 7, 2021 and December 31, 2021, you will receive a $300 statement credit for each eligible purchase up to 15 bikes. We will also credit any additional interest or fees that may be applied during this time as a result of this error.

If you used your Business Platinum Card to enroll in a Walmart+ monthly membership online at walmart.com/partner/plus/amexplatinum, between October 7, 2021 and December 31, 2021, you will receive a statement credit of $12.95 plus applicable tax towards your subscription from the month you were enrolled, through your February 2022 term. We will also credit any additional interests or fees that may be applied to your account during this time as a result of this error.

If you do not wish to keep a Walmart+ membership without the monthly statement credit benefit, you must cancel your subscription by calling Walmart Customer Care at 1-800-924-9206, or online through your Walmart Account at least one day prior to its renewal date in March.

Soulcycle credit apples to only the $2000 bike purchases? or anything on website can be bought?

Oh no. The paid coupon book lost some useless coupons.

They’ve also been sending me incorrect emails about $20 back on wireless on my Delta Reserve Biz card, but the benefit was only ever $15 (and I believe this was the last month). Additionally, when you click the link in the email, it says that offer is not available. I doubt they’ll bother to do something similar about this.

That’s because nobody wants them anyway.

Interesting. They’ve been honoring misadvertised stuff like this and erroneous Amex offers.

Do we expect to see clawbacks in 3-9 months in 2022?

Welcome surprise but doubt it will cost them that much. So basically 2 free months of Walmart+ and $300 off a $2K+ home bike

You aren’t counting all the people that bought 15 bikes..

I got my “REVOKED” extra Uber Amex Credits back – I sent a cordial email to the Uber VP of marketing.
