The Offer
- Receive 5x eBay Bucks or 10% back on most items sold on eBay over $50.
Many of us received this offer today via email. You can also check your eBay messages to see if you were targeted.
The Fine Print
- Valid starting 8am PT on 10/21 until midnight PT on 10/22
- Must click to activate the offer
- Bonus usually shows at the time of purchase; in my experience this is sometimes glitchy and doesn’t show, but the Bucks will show up for the purchase anyway
Our Verdict
10% back on all eBay purchases is awesome! Based on historical trends, we’ve written that the 5x Bucks offers don’t come in during the Bucks redemption months of January, April, July, and October – this one is off schedule, see Ebay Bucks, Gift Card Deals, & Timing Your eBay Purchases. It’s possible that the schedule has changed or else this is a special Halloween offer; we mentioned in the original post that they do release off-schedule offers for holidays. (There was another bonus Bucks offer earlier this month, but it was highly targeted, apparently at those who usually don’t get the Bucks offers for some reason.) I’m not yet ready to edit the original post, but another one or two data points will convince me that they’ve started offering bonus Bucks during redemption months as well (Yay!).
What to Buy
Okay, you have 10% back on eBay, but what to buy?
- $90 for $100 Lowe’s physical gift card from Giftcardmall on eBay. Limit 2.
- $57 Sephora e-gift card for just $50 from Paypal Digital Gifts on eBay. Limit 3.
- $100 CVS gift card for just $88 from SVM on eBay. Limit 3.
- See List of Best Options for Full-Price Gift Cards on eBay where we rounded up some of the most popular gift card option available on eBay. You can lock in any of those at a 10% discount from Bucks + 2% from portal + 5x UR points with INK for the e-gift cards in that list.
Reselling Angle
You can resell the Lowe’s gift cards for 83.5%.
- Pay $180 for $200 in Lowe’s gift cards
- Sell them for $167
- Get $18 back in Bucks
- Get $3.60 back from the portal (or 360 Alaska miles or 900/1800 Aeroplan)
- Get at least $3.60 back in credit card points
- Net Profit: $12.20 (or more if you pay with eBay gift cards purchased at a discount)
Sephora and CVS can also be options for reselling, but be aware that Saveya and Giftcardzen don’t accept Sephora cards electronically so those will be hard to liquidate.
