British Airways doesn’t seem to be allowing one to transfer Avios to Iberia. Anyone have any luck with transferring to Iberia?

If Iberia doesn’t cancel your award flights the day of travel for no reason, and then when you try to buy the same flights in cash they refuse because the flight is “too close to take off”. Iberia has garbage customer service and their award program is a giant bet if you need to actually fly on the flights you book with Avios.

What on Earth are you talking about??

I’ve been flying Iberia for over 10 years, multiple rewards flights a year…NONE of what you describe has ever happened.

And the customer service is actually really friendly, as long as you’re friendly yourself…

It’s happened to us twice. Award tickets canceled the day of the flight without compensation of any kind. 6 denials by their really friendly customer service. They’re garbage. A quick search of Iberia online will show you that your experience is an outlier.

Anybody figure out a way to transfer BA Avios to Iberia? I have 120k Avios with BA that I cant transfer due to the current scamming issues they are having 🙁

Be careful that Iberia now uses Airbus A321 XLR, narrow body plane, for a BOS-MAD flight! It might be uncomfortable for some travelers.

Taxes and fees for a return flight would be approximately $215 in Y, which is still a good deal but not an insane one. However, in J, it’s an insane deal. Am I missing something here?

Aaaand I can’t search flights… again. This isn’t the first time this has happened. I have 155k parked in the account. Is there an agency within the EU I can complain to and force Iberia to pay me out those miles at their cash purchase value? I know the question sounds insane, but the EU does have much more strict rules on this kind of malicious behavior than the US does so you never know.

Good luck, if you find someone to complain please post it here. Iberia is complete garbage.
