Update 1/6/25: Deal is back through 12/31/25 for 5% or 10% back, up to $20 back.
The Offer
Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:
- Enroll by 5/16/23. Get 10% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make a payment on your insurance bill by 12/31/2023. Limit of $30 back in total statement credits. See terms.
- Others got a lower $20 or $15 max.
The Fine Print
- Government-backed insurance policies may be excluded.
- Payments made to Insurance policies outside of the U.S. are excluded.
- Valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
- Limit of $30 in total statement credits per Card Member.
- You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet.
- Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date).
- Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2023, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
Our Verdict
There was a highly targeted insurance offer for $15 off that surfaced a bit ago, this is a different version for up to $30 offer and valid through the end of 2023. I got this on my Blue Cash. I love insurance offers since it’s basically free money on my auto insurance bill.
You can search prior posts for data points on what worked in the past, but this should work on most regular auto, health, homeowner, life, etc, insurances. Amex offers for a specific category, such as insurance, have worked in the past even when paying with Paypal; hopefully that’s the case this time as well.

Of course I had to pay an insurance bill the first week of Jan, when this and the previous offer were not live.
what data/privacy rights are being given away for “up to $20”?
Had the 2024 offer on my BCE, which I used in Dec. Now this 2025 version is appearing as an offer on P2’s card, where she is an authorized user on my account. I had the same thing happen for Pepper. I used the offer, then later is showed up in P2’s list of offers, and both ended up with the credit.
Had this on BCE, but it expired on 12/31/2024.
got it BCE
I never get the good Amex offers. F them
They stopped sending it to me after the $1500 on $1500 promo on mine.
Nada on BCE 🙁
Nada on BCP. But hopeful for Chase anniversary promo
Thank you DOC.
It’s just another offer that I didn’t get which happens all the time. I went from blue cash everyday to blue cash preferred a year ago and i seem to miss out on everything.
Drop the cash back limit and it would be worth the effort for my time. More and more insurance companies are charging fees for leveraging credit cards as payments. Hard pass.
Nationwide insurance doesn’t charge any fees!
state farm doesn’t charge any
Travelers has no fees, buy does not accept AMEX.
They didn’t in the past but now they do, not sure when they changed.
Paypal is an option. I pay my progressive bill which doesn’t accept Amex with PayPal
Would still be worth it with a 10% cashback. Most of them allow partial payments so you can pay just 200$ via card
