Our Verdict

There was a 70k + $400 offer last year. That offer didn’t show for many people, the other offer that we frequently see is 90k miles or 70k + $200. The offer you prefer will depend on how highly you value Delta miles. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Anyone get $400 offer lately? I only see $300 or $200 with 30,000 miles for personal with lifetime.

Received a targeted ad in the mail, 60k miles and AF waived for a year, for $2k spend in 6 months. Includes a $100 delta flight credit after $10k spend in a year

Can I cancel this card once I get the points in my delta account?

I do not have travel plan for 3 months. I see 30k miles and $400 statement credit offer when do a dummy booking.

Does buying miles on Delta.com help in earning $400 statement credit? I looked at condition line-by-line but just wanna confirm whether buying miles can be considered a cash equivalent?

“1, Purchase must be made directly through Delta.” — Buying miles on Delta.com
“2. A purchase may not qualify for the statement credit if it is submitted under a merchant code that has not been categorized as a Delta merchant code as of the date of the purchase(s).” — Buying directly from Delta.com
“3. Purchases to meet the spend requirement do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards; person-to-person payments, or purchases of other cash equivalents.”
— Miles purchase on not a fee or prepaid/gift card. Can it be considered cash equivalents?
4. Delta Gift Cards and purchases made at deltashop.com and/or the Delta Flight Museum do not qualify.
— Buying from Delta.com (not Deltashop.com”

I tried the gift card option from Delta.com, waited for almost two months now. but didn’t get the statement credit yet. Maybe gift card might not be the option anymore. (Notice the site is actually https://buy.giftcards.delta.com/)

Did anyone successfully get the credit by purchase gift card?

Is this offer dead now?

Hit with $99 annual fee. What are the options to avoid it. Any no fee card to convert or just cancel it? Miles doens’t expire anyway. Thanks

$75 e gift card triggers the statement credit.

How does this work? I took the $50,000/$400 offer and have the card. Couldn’t use to book and don’t have flight plans in the 3 month time frame. Need to buy something on Delta.com to trigger the credit. Looking for options to trigger the credit.

Gift cards used to trigger the bonus – but this was a few years ago. Read the wording of the offer carefully – if they simply say a purchase on delta dot com is required, it probably will.

An Amex customer rep just told me gift cards does not trigger the statement credit.

Please don’t call the bank and ask. You’re just letting them know the loophole.

Does anyone know about how long it takes for bonus miles to get added to Skymiles account after meeting minimum spend?

In my experience, a few days.

I got pop up for Amex gold application a week ago.. is it likely that I’ll also get pop up on a partner card like this?

Finally puled that +400 unicorn, had to install and play with a VPN though. Thanks for the heads up. No popup, opened the last card about 6 years ago or so, hopefully won’t be a problem.

I applied at 50k+300, and then decided to check one more time, and a VPN to California of course gives me the $400 instead. Oh well, too late!

Congrats! Me too but no cigar, close – I only got 30k miles and $400 credit – not a big loss as I prefer cash and have never been able to use miles for anything (or I don’t know how and they expire or go bankrupt). I wanted it badly to book a flight ASAP for international travel but I could not get the number instantly and called them but I have to wait for the mail, can’t have it expedited either. I think they may be approving some last minute applications to meet their marketing goal or something. Since DoC said today is last, I tried earlier once and no go but at 1pm Eastern (so technically it is 14th, unless this is not based in ET zone) I thought one last try before using another card to book my flight. First I got a message saying, they have received the application and it may be 14 days and then 5 minutes later I got an approval email. Oh yeah, earlier I had 100k miles offer show up for another Delta purple? card with $695 annual fee, but did not try as I don’t value miles and I ain’t paying $695 for any card.

Any advice on the best way for someone like myself to pull a similar offer? I’m not as technical as you are when it comes to playing with a VPN. 🙂

I would say keep trying with different browsers. For me it showed in Microsoft Edge and Opera at different times and after a few times it showed and I could not get the offer, it stopped showing and I had to start all over again by doing some of the following things. Check your settings – allow ads, popups, etc., and then also if it does not show, clear cookies/cache, close the browser and try again. Also, on/off your router or internet connection so it generate a new IP.
