Tops Market has a gift card promotion for the holiday season:
- Spend $50 or more on groceries through 12/24 and get a Gift Point which can be used to get a $10 discount on a $50 gift card purchase
Make sure to use your Tops BonusPlus card when earning and redeeming Gift Points.
Gift Points can only be redeemed for gift cards of $50 denominations, and only of the following brands:
Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Applebee’s, Babies R Us, Banana Republic, Cabela’s, Cracker Barrel, Fandango, GameStop, GAP, IHOP, JC Penny, Lowes, Michaels, Nike, Old Navy, Panera, Red Robin, Ruby Tuesday, SpaFinder, TGIFridays, Toys R Us.
The Fine Print
- Limit one $10 Gift Point discount per participating Christmas Bonus Gift Card purchased
- Earn one Gift Point for every qualifying grocery purchase of $50 or more
- Limit one earned Gift Point per transaction and one per household every six hours
- $50 minimum purchase must be made in a single transaction; smaller purchases cannot be combined to qualify
- Minimum purchase must be met after all discounts are subtracted from order and before sales tax is added
- The following items do not count toward the minimum purchase requirement: milk (PA and MA only); alcohol; prescriptions; money orders; postage stamps; lottery tickets; gasoline purchases (both prepaid and at the gas station); gift cards; amusement park and any other tickets; Western Union wire transfer services; fax service; copying machine service; coin operated vending machines; utility payments; prepaid telephone calling cards; prepaid wireless; delivery charges; dry cleaning; fund raising activities and donations; returned check service fees; payments toward charge account balances; and bottle deposits
- Excludes purchases made at TOPS fuel stations, TOPS XPress stores and in store Tim Hortons’ franchise locations
- Returned purchases do not qualify for earning Gift Points
- No refunds or exchanges on gift card purchases
- Earn Christmas Bonus Gift Points on qualifying purchases between October 30, 2016 and December 24, 2016
- Gift Points must be redeemed by December 31, 2016
Our Verdict
Excellent deal if Tops is your local grocery. Would be nice to split up your shopping into $50 increments, but the terms exclude us from doing so as there has to be a 6-hour wait before earning another Gift Point.
Aside from earning Gift Points, Tops Market also has gas points which are earned on purchases; those will continue to be earned in addition to Gift Points.
