Did Surfshark a while ago, didn’t track and Surfshark’s pointing fingers at TopCashback. Frustrating (but better service than Purevpn).

I received payment from the recent PIA and IProVPN deals on TCB. P2 and P3 also completed these deals and their timelines are similar. We used Cap One Spark business credit cards to pay for the subscriptions in order to avoid any foreign transaction fees. I used to cash out via Visa gift card for the 5% bonus and pay my Citi credit cards over the phone that way, but I don’t think they work anymore for this purpose, so I’m back to PayPal for now.

2/12 – Signed up for Private Internet Access and paid $56.94 for 24 month VPN plan + 2 free months through TCB affiliate link, tracked same day (within one hour) along with $2.50 bonus that was previously activated
3/8 – Signed up for IProVPN 3 year VPN subscription at 101% cashback rate through TCB affiliate link, activated $2.50 bonus offer right before purchase
3/16 – IProVPN cashback did not track automatically, so claim was filed on this date
4/13 – Full cashback amount (100%) plus $2.50 becomes payable in account (for PIA deal)
5/1 – IProVPN claim was accepted, and correct amount was added to my account and instantly payable (plus the $2.50 bonus for this deal)
6/1 – Requested PayPal cashout for both deals and turned off auto-renewal in online PIA account, logged in using credentials sent to me via email upon purchase
6/2 – PayPal cashout received

I was back and forth with IProVPN by email after filing a claim and before having it accepted, as I was trying to get a refund in case the claim didn’t work out. They were slow and difficult to deal with, but I think emailing them is ultimately what triggered them to move along on my claim and finally push the cashback through to my TCB account.

I am glad that everything worked out in the long run, but it probably wasn’t worth the headache that I went through for such a small moneymaker. At least the PIA deal worked out perfectly without me having to contact anyone.

Also, I logged into my IProVPN account, and noticed that there wasn’t a way to cancel the VPN and that it had a 3 year expiration date on it. So, I guess it wasn’t an automatically recurring subscription that I needed to cancel after all.

Purchased Oyster VPN and cashback didn’t track. Opened a ticket with Topcashback. This is my experience every time.

Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had this experience. The best way to ensure Cash Back tracks is to: turn off ad-blockers, regularly clear cookies & cache, shop with as few tabs open as possible and always begin shopping with an empty cart. If you need some assistance or have questions, feel free to reach me at [email protected].

Best wishes,
Erica

Opened a ticket after 7 days after the transaction, and Topcashback hasn’t done anything.

Same experience with expressvpn. It shows the click to merchant but did not receive cashback. Cancelled expressvpn and stopped using topcashback.

DP: Purchased FastestVPN for $30 lifetime (clicking on the TopCashBack link on the website with every extension turned off except for the TopCashBack extension). Showed pending about 5 hours later.

VPN itself is pretty barebones/bad (I use VPNs on a daily basis and have gone through many companies), especially with the Wireguard protocol that I exclusively use, so I unfortunately don’t think I’ll be able to use it much, if at all…

Purevpn is garbage! 98% of the time it won’t even connect. Their customer support is useless too, all they will do is sending you bunch of suspicious links to download/install.

Anyone have any commentary about which of these may work to change location for MLB games? The VPN I’ve always used in previous years (Windscribe) is blocked 100% for all MLB domains (403 errors) no matter which location I connect to. Any tips would be appreciated!

PIA is starting to get blocked on a lot of public routers (at least at my two jobs). FastestVPN ‘lifetime’ service is poorly reviewed on their subreddit (frequent downtime). OysterVPN is only 40% cashback. Keeper is a password manager.

Personally, I’m still riding the free 50GB Windscribe service.

Ali How did you manage to get 50gb? I had/have10, there was a promo to get 20, but they discontinued it and I’m back to 10.

IMHO – Go Surfshark or Nord VPN, or go home. Sometimes free stuff is worth exactly what you pay for it.

I wouldn’t even use SurfShark. Its NordVPN or nothing.

These deals are just for manufacturing spending. I signed up for PureVPN back in October for the cash back. I haven’t even touched it. Got the 100 or 110% cash back or whatever, manufactured spend to work towards the Capital One Venture SUB, it tracked fine. I’m happy :).

Compared to their group company surfshark, speed/app feature/wireguard support/limited cities its inferior. Too much commercial since their merger/compromise.

I have nord/surfshark /purevpn/pia/ivacy. Using surfshark mostly and purevpn sometimes.

I’m more concerned about the logging and jurisdiction, which NordVPN scores highest in. Check this spreadsheet (not my sheet): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1ijfqfLrJWLUVBfJZ_YalVpstWsjw-JGzkvMd6u2jqEk/htmlview?pli=1

I don’t see that sheet is accurate. Nordvpn now has exit in india (after a pull back) which means it’s data is logged (govt requirement). Netflix works better with surfshark so score of 2 vs 5 is not correct. It once was great but after merger it’s all about revenue now.
