- Qatar Airways works its way around the electronics ban… by providing its own laptops by One Mile At A Time. Providing laptops makes sense for business class passengers, it’s not the same as having your own but at least some work should be able to be done if necessary. I personally hate having to work during a flight and believe that is well earned time off for having to take a flight for work in the first place but often it’s a necessary evil. I don’t think I’d ever actually do any work on a borrowed laptop though as the risk of it being stolen/corrupted is too high for my tastes.
- Richard Branson: Alaska Airlines will pay for the Virgin brand until 2040 — even if they don’t use it by Puget Sound Biz Journal. I mean I’d love it if somebody paid me $10 Million a year for another 23 years as well, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
- wtf: Lyft just intro’d a robo-glove called Mono that will hail you a ride by EZ Journeys. This has to be an early April Fools, right?
- Social Security Cards Explained by CGP Grey. Really interesting video.
All for an insolvent program that is bankrupting the country. I look forward to receiving pennies on the dollar for my social security contributions. It really is a political Catch 22, any politician that wants to make sustainable changes to entitlement programs, which are direly needed, will be accused of cutting benefits and will have trouble winning election. Therefore, politicians continue to avoid the issue entirely, or just take the bernie sanders/hillary clinton approach outright lying by talking about strengthening a program by making it even more unstable than it currently is. Now take the social security solvency issues and multiply by 5, and we arrive at Medicare
Educational video, kinda disturbing but interesting none the less… (for those short on time I recommend starting at 4:15)
Gee, maybe I won’t file that tax return extension this year, after all…
In 2018 or 2019 Medicare will stop using Social Security numbers.
